This is a sample transcript. Before you review your credits and grades, make sure all your personal information (name, ID, parent/guardian names, birth date), is correct. If anything is incorrect, please contact Ms. Brittell!  

Under “ACADEMIC RECORD” you will find “Course Code,” “Description,” “LtrGrd,” “Cred Earn,” “Cred Attp,” and 

“Crs Dsg.”

“Course Code” indicates the 

alphanumeric code used to designate each course you have taken. 

“Description” is the title of the 

course(s) you have taken.

“Ltr Grd” indicates the letter grade you have earned in your 

course(s). 

“Cred Earn” indicates the numerical 

amount of credit you have earned for your 

course(s). 

“Cred Attp” indicates the numerical amount of credit you have 

attempted to earn for your course(s). 

The “Course Designation Key” lists codes that you will 

find in the last column (“Crs Dsg”) under your “Academic Record.”

For example, the “BH” at the end of the “Alg I Hon” row indicates that Algebra I 

Honors is both a CADR/HECB core class AND an Honors class (CADR/HECB is a 

designation that indicates a course is accepted by public colleges in Washington as a college‐prep course for admissions purposes). 

The “MO/YR” and “GRD LVL” line indicates the month, year, and grade level in 

which you were enrolled for the semester followed by your END‐of‐semester 

course progress summary.

The “The REPORT PERIOD AND CUMULATIVE 

SUMMARY” provides a summary of your total 

credits and your overall GPA.

The first column indicates grade level and end‐of‐

semester dates by month and year. For example, “09” is 

grade 9, “01” is January (the month the first semester ended), and “10” is 2010. 

“Cred Earn” indicates the number of credits you earned by passing classes, and “Cred Attp” indicated the number of classes in which you were 

enrolled. If the Cred Earn and Cred Attp column totals do not match, it is because you did not pass a course or your withdrew 

from a course. 

“GPA Earn” indicates the number of credits you earned by passing classes that were graded on an A‐F scale, and “GPA Attp” indicates the 

number of classes in which you were enrolled that were graded on an A‐F scale. Classes that are not counted in these columns include TA or classes that are 

graded as “P.”

“GPA” is an indication of your total GPA points divided by the number of classes you took. For example, 10.950 GPA points divided by a total of 6 classes equals 3.650 overall.  Grade 

values are as follows:

A = 4.0     A‐ = 3.7    B+ = 3.3B = 3.0     B‐ = 2.7    C+ = 2.3C = 2.0     C‐ = 1.7    D+ = 1.3D = 1.0     F = 0

The cumulative summary line indicates your overall averages for credits earned, credits attempted, GPA points, and 

overall GPA. 

The “ADDITIONAL STATE REQUIREMENTS” summary 

indicates your status (“MET” or “NOT MET”) for various State 

tests and other district requirements. 

If you need a copy of your transcript, please come to the counseling office and fill out a “transcript request form,” which can be obtained at the Registrar’s desk. Please note that “Official” transcripts, often required by colleges, can take at least a full day to prepare…so fill out the form well in advance of when you need one!
