60%-70% of First Time College Students come from one of the 4 Main Unified School Districts

Both colleges have increased their online course offerings in response to student demand.

Coming next year….Fall 2008 numbers show a big increase in full-time faculty at each college.

The total number of Faculty has remained relatively stable over the last five years.

Over the last two years buildings such as a new Performing Arts Center and the Village classrooms have increased instructional space.

Underscores both strengths and weaknesses. Identifies instructional and student support areas for both commendation

and creative attention.

Strategic Planning: provides needed data for institutional planning in the areas of outreach & marketing, student support, and academic programs.

Supports the need for new services or programs to address institutional weaknesses;

Offers a justification for financing the new programs or services; Suggests a time frame for achieving the targeted goals.

This report is used by the Planning and Budget Council (PBC), the strategic planning groups and shared governance in planning and decision making. It is viewed as data that highlights Saddleback’s successes and also areas where improvement is needed.

Examples ◦ Institutional Effectiveness Committee

The IE Committee uses this data in Program Reviews and Student Learning Outcomes. ESL Department

The report helped identify areas in the curriculum that is needed so they can measure students progression though the ESL course sequence.

◦ Enrollment Management Committee The Distance Education Committee is using the data to tackle the difficult issue of

student attrition and success in online courses.
