Vulcan manufactures high quality Hoist Drum and Drum Shaft
Drums are either manufactured integral single piece
alloy steel casting or two piece forged fabricated
design.
Vulcan conducts finite element analysis on Rope
Drums to avoid inherent internal cracking problem. A
ccordingly Drum shaft thickness is increased to reduce
stress.
Grooves are precision cut on our
Vertical turning lathe maintaining
highest standard of quality.

Grooves of Cast design drums are flame hardened
& of forged fabricated design drums are induction
hardened to 55 HRC for adequate case depth.
