The followings were carried out during the month of October 1971.

ARCHITECTURAL

1. Bid document preparation of heating and plumbing for power. house was commenced

and its present progress is 9596 completed.

2. Status for final payment concerning BC materials

Wc: lciw(.ided to TKC lubricant lists available in Korea but TKC is not In a posi­

liun tO complete the IFB documents due to lack of complete information from ven­

dors. We contacted KOCO for procurement of lubricants available therefrom

ltcently. KOCO has started their lubricant survery foi our project to determine

ill-t - 1Il ,kt locul and stote 5idu supply. Afel rec:ipt ,f Iheir survery report,

KEC-. v ill tc.rward to TKC for their review and upproval for final decision for

use.

ELECTRICAL

Reviewing electrical schematic diagram of plant aux. transformer, C.1 cotinectlons for

differential relays were found Incorrect. According to U.P.C schematic drawing and

rKC cable schedules, above C.T secondaries were to be connected in star which will

subject the differential relay to false operation under external fault. Therefore we

inquired TKC/phila about this matter by telex dated October !4 and revised C.T co­

nnections from star )o delta upon receipt of 1"KC confirmation.

Revised TKC drawing and cable schedules were received lately.

SECTION II

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES

The following site construction work was carried out during the month of October

1971.

ARCHITECTURAL

1. Construction work for the second stage finishing of control room building was

commenced on Dec. 30, 1970 and its work has been stopped since Feb. 13,

1971 due to lack of pipe supply concerning plumbing from TUBECO in the status

of progressing 86.8%.

2. Construction work for switch yard fence was commenced on July 10, 1971 and

completed as of Oct. 6, 1971

3. Construction work for the second stage finishing work for turbine house and heater

bay was commenced on July 21, 1971, and its present progress is 56.862% com­

pleted.

4. Construction work for Painting of boiler frame was contracted on Oct. 21, 1971,

and its present progress is 5.37% completed, however rusting of boiler frame was

not clarified yet by TKC site Engineer

CIVIL

1. Construction work for laying grrvel on the switch yard has been suspe"iecd since

October 2, 1970 due to outstanding arection work for the stuctiia and rorumed

as of October 30, 1971 as the above cleared. Its present progress is 50% com­

pleted.

2. Outstanding minor works such as construction of the diffuser pit, placirg rubble

concrete for the foundation of extended crane rails on the C.W. pump house,

pit work for the gasoline tank for fire fighting .ystrm, etc., are under progress

and planned for completion by December 7, 1971.

MECHANICAL

1. Erection work for Steam Generating Unit (Specification No. 1B) was commenced

on August 19, 1979 and Its present progress fs 95%

2. Erection work For Turbo-Generator Unit (Spe'ification No. 11, 2T, 7T) was

commenced on November 6. 1970 and its present progress is 78.3%.

Erection work for Equipment and Piping (Specification No. 2B, 2211, 6B3, 11B,

12B, 16B, 1781, 4T2, 21B, 4T), 19B1,19B2, 19B3, 25B, I8B, 9T, 135, 2MS,

5MS and 14.) was commenced on February 25, 1971 and its present progress is

62.7%.

4. Erection work for intake Equipment (Specification No. 3T, 4T3, 6T1, 6T2, 12B

rimmenced on May 12, 1971 o-c .s present progress Is 64.6%. Erection work for

this item. "as been suspended since July 28, 1971 due to the delay of C.W.

pipe materials and lack of information for C.W. pump coupling alignment.

5. Erection work for Instrumentation and Combustion Control System (Specification

No. 8B1, 882, 9B1, 9B2) was commenced on May 31, 1971 and its present

progress is 50%.

6. Erection work for Insulation of Mechanical Equipment (Specification No. 13B)

was commenced on June 21, 1971 and Its present progress Is 40.9%.

7. Erection work for Elevator (Specification No. 20BCI) was commenced on June

25, 1971 and its present progress Is 98%.

B. Erection work for Fuel oil storage Tanks (Specification No. 6B1, 686) was

commenced on October 5, 1971 and its present progress Is 22.4%.

1) Present progress is about 60% completed.

2) Laid power cables for the welding receptaces

3) Connected the high valtage cables for the start up transformer 4) Terminated D.C cables for the UPC board & desks

5) Terminated control cables for the M.C.C.

6) Terminated contiol cables for the boiler board & desks 7) Tested and adjusted all protection relays CT. & P.T. for start upfower

system.

8) Checked operation sequence of UoP.C. board and desks

9) Checked operation sequence of 4.16KV sw. gear

10) Checked operation sequence of 480V load center 11) Checked polarity of B.C.T. of start up trans and changed phase connection

of CT(for 86TP) from star to delta.

12) Laid heating strips for mechan:cal pipes

2. remporary start up power system.

1) 100% completed by October 25. 2) Could not receive start up power through the original temporary scheme due

to the malfunction of the 154KV A .B.B. ourdespite of thorough check and repeated test, therefore made tie with the main transformer O.C.B. already

installed.
