Each school operating a schoolwide program must include all ten components in their plan. All schoolwide schools in improvement status must include the ten requirements for schools in improvement.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

1.1– Content Leader Teachers will attend state training that will increase knowledge and use of student centered learning in the area of English Language Arts and literacy across the curricula. Teachers that attend will redeliver strategies and activities learned to the faculty and staff to increase student performance in the area of English Language Arts and literacy.

1.2 Job embedded Grade Level/PLC Meetings will be held to discuss strategies and activities that are being used in the classroom. Teachers will also continually analyze data to adjust teaching methods as needed to promote student academic achievement. Professional Learning Coach for PLC development and leadership. ARC coaches dates to increase by 10 days.

1.3 Monthly teacher mentoring sessions will be conducted providing new teachers the opportunity to work closely with a Mentor teacher on the areas of curriculum, implementation, and instruction. Monthly observations will be performed by the new teacher to observe strategies discussed during Mentor meetings.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT1.1-1.4 Parental Involvement a. Back to School Night – Parents will attend and participate in a meeting designed to inform parents of the rules, procedures, and academic expectations for the upcoming school year.

e. Parent Workshops – Semester parent workshops (within the school day) will be held for parents to receive information on strategies and skills they can use at home to improve student achievement. All parents will receive invite, letter, & informational packets through their homeroom teachers regardless of attendance or not.

f. Study Guides, Weekly Test Folders, Monthly School Calendar & Newsletter- Parents will receive weekly test folders and reminders from homeroom teachers as well as a school calendar/newsletter designed to keep parents informed of the latest activities and upcoming events and provide relevant ELA/Math strategies, resources, websites etc. g. “Parent Mustang Points”- Parents will receive credit and earn additional Mustang bucks or other rewards for active participation and attendance throughout the year for their child.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT2.1– Content Leader Teachers will attend state math training and/or other professional development that will increase knowledge and use of student centered learning in the area of Mathematics and numeracy across the curricula. Teachers that attend will redeliver strategies and activities learned to the faculty and staff to increase student performance in the area of Math and Numeracy across the curricula.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT1.1-1.4 Parental Involvement a. Back to School Night – Parents will attend and participate in a meeting designed to inform parents of the rules, procedures, and academic expectations for the upcoming school year.

b. Math/Numeracy Night- Parents will attend and participate in activities designed to inform them of strategies and skills that they can use at home to improve student achievement in grades PreK-3rd. CURRICULUM/INSTRUCTION3.1 Implementation of PBIS lessons. There will be a weekly focus teachers will be teaching as indicated on monthly calendars. Delta Elementary faculty will use and participate in the PBIS strategies school wide. These will include: Mustang expectations will be printed and posted in each area of the school including office, hallway, restroom, bus, and cafeteria.

3.2 Round Robin Rules- teachers/students will review Delta School’s rules around the campus at various settings to inform students of PBIS expectations. PBIS will be implemented daily/weekly at school and Round Robin will take place at the beginning and middle of the school year.

3.3 “Mustang Bucks” – students will receive Mustang bucks for meeting and following PBIS expectations daily/weekly.

3.4 PBIS Store- students will redeem Mustang bucks they have been given bi-monthly at the Mustang Cave to receive incentives which will reinforce PBIS expectations.

3.5 MUSTANG Expectations/Strategies- students will receive “Brag Tags,” classroom praise, recognition etc. daily, weekly, monthly etc. to reinforce ongoing classroom/school expectations. Each month students will receive an in-service on a different topic for ex. “Manners, Being Respectful, Good Citizenship, etc.”

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

3.1 Teachers will receive extended training to reinforce initial staff development in the areas of PBIS. PBIS committee meeting reports/concerns and will be discussed with all teachers during job-embedded Grade Level/PLC Meetings.

3.2 Semester Teacher/Parent Workshops will be conducted providing new teachers and parents have the opportunity to learn new strategies that will improve classroom behavior & increase learning in the classroom or at home.

3.3 Provide Strategies (Books, resources etc.) monthly during teacher mentoring sessions/PLC’s working closely with our new teachers/Mentor teachers on the areas of curriculum, implementation, and classroom management, and instruction. Monthly observations will be performed by the new teacher to observe strategies discussed during Mentor meetings.

3.4 PBIS team members, faculty, and staff will meet and receive training in PBIS to promote a positive learning environment and increase student’s academic achievement. Review the PBIS Binder, Procedures, “Mustang Bucks” and PBIS store.

3.5 All faculty and staff will serve on a school committee/club, conduct or attend monthly meetings to discuss and implement schoolwide improvement strategies as indicated in SIP.
