Board Meeting September 28, 2018 In Attendance: Greg Furer, Rachelle Fritz, Kris Hunt, Terry Danko, Ki Kim, Mark Michaelis, Dr. Nairn, Brad Whitman and Dan Burek Attending by Phone: None Excused: Marlene Jenkins Administration in Attendance: George Trauner, Chad Dickson, Rob Lewis, Jerrad Rimel, Marci Dickson, Amanda Shields, Al Gesler and Victoria Soff. Special Guest: None The bi-monthly meeting of the Bethesda Foundation for Children Board of Directors was held on Friday, September 28, 2018 immediately following the board retreat at Peek-N-Peak Resort, the Chairman being in his chair and a secretary being present. Greg Furer called the meeting to order at 12:05 pm and offered the opening prayer. Rachelle Fritz moved to approve the minutes from the August 2018 meeting. Mark Michaelis seconded the motion. In Attendance: Greg Furer, Rachelle Fritz, Kris Hunt, Terry Danko, Ki Kim, Mark Michaelis, Dr. Nairn, Brad Whitman and Dan Burek

Facilities ReportRob Lewis presented the Facilities report which included a new roof for the Leadership Center.

Investment CommitteeMark Michaelis reported that the committee will work to finalize the gift acceptance policy.

Development Department Update: There are not official numbers for the mud run but the early numbers

suggest a profit of $8-9 thousand dollars They need addresses for the Gateway Clipper The Development Department applied for and received a

$10,000/month Google Grant for marketing. There will be more grant information forthcoming.

Erie give raised about $2500. This is more than last year and is all profit.

The EITC program funds horticulture and alternative education The Clay shoot is October 5th. We have 13 confirmed teams at this

point.

Greg asks if the events are “worth it.” The response from the development team is that each event has a separate purpose and it can be said the events are all “worth it” but they would like to explore more grant writing and possibly less events.

Financial ReportChad Dickson presented the Finance Report and told the board that the bills are getting paid and that the BLS checking account is as low as it has ever been. Agenda Items for the Good of the OrderThe Strategic Plan will be ready for the next board meeting.

There being no more business, the meeting, Terry Danko motioned to adjourn the meeting. Mark Michaelis seconded the motion. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 1:00 pm.
