Please tell us some of the things you really like about your school, or things that would make it even better. Grades 4-61. i think that more computers would be better2. I love gym so much Art is so much fun3. I really like gym class. I think the teacher should pay more attention to the students in gym4. i like this survey because you can say stuff in private and no one thinks they have the right answer. i think maybe our teachers should be more strict because some people are
talking and getting away with it. thank you5. i love irma school the staff is super friendly and visitors love to come6. I like that we have all the way to elementry to senior high and that I like our play ground but we could have a better one but i think we sould have better stuff for the teachers
because they go to school for us and they should have a good trment and maybe we could have play room for elementry and we could do what ever.7. i really like that we have a band we need a better janitor our janitor barley cleans our school8. I like how that the principal communicates with us and try's his best to make this school a safe place. He takes all of our suggestions and try's his best to make them happen
9. i really like our school but there have been sometimes where i wish i could do something that ive only done once but my teacher may chose someone who has done the job 3 times. But this school is very fun and good.
10. I like that we have split classes and that we have hot lunch at least every week. I also like that we don't have a new school because this school has very good memories of us.
11. Teachers are very nice and helpful. janitors need to keep the school clean hot lunch rocks12. Teachers are very nice and help us when needed. We need more activity time to clear our minds so we are ready to work.13. Well i think needles should only be giving in grade 12 because you have to get them 3 times in grade 5 and 9. Mr.Grosky is very fair when you into trouble he gives a another
chance to make it right then calls home then suspension.I like that our class has its own chrome book cart.14. i love my school because it is realy firendly. i whant to chang is a popcorn maicen15. i like the chromebooks and music16. I like everything in school especially math.17. I really like our playground facilities. I also like our learning devices, like smartboards. More people should be suspended or get detention if their being rude. EX. so and so
punches so and so in the head but their is no suspension or detention. I also like that we have K to 12 because the younger kids have role models. Our gym needs better equipment. Also sometimes when others are on games and their not supposed to be on those games , we tell them to get off there games, in a polite manner, they say back off or none of your business and then the teacher does nothing about it. Great school but some problems.
18. I like all the staff in the school but it would be nice if we got taught by more teachers. it would also be great if we got a new school. The one thing I don't like about our school is the desks because they are so old.
19. i think we need to get new desk and the teachers are nice all the time i really like flied trips the principal is vary nice the teachers help me with my work20. It would be better if we got a new playground. I like the teachers in my school because they help you when you need it.21. I don't know I love this school I don't want to change it.
Please tell us some of the things you really like about your school, or things that would make it even better. Grades 7-121. I really enjoy the teachers we have and the amount of effort they put in. My favourite activity is student council and the say we have in the school.
2. we need better chairs
3. I like having smaller classes, it is easier to engage in certain topics and we all get along very well. Teachers treat us fairly and with respect. They all expect the same respect and fairness in their classrooms. I think more physical activity for the high school is very important and would better our days at school if some form of phys ed was included. The days can get really long and boring sometimes even though you may have great discussions in class or an interesting topic you go over. Sitting for the entire day except to change classes can get long. When our high school cycled their 20 and 30 level classes I thought that took some stress off and they had better results on the diplomas. Plus some of our class sizes are 5 or 6 students and if we cycled the classes, the younger or older grade would add to those numbers making assignments and group work easier. SO the 2 things that I think would benefit our school is more physical activity and maybe cycling our classes. Other than that our school is amazing and I feel blessed to come to such a safe, comforting place.
4. SOME GOOD TEACHERS
5. one thing that would make the school better would be to leave the student lounge unlocked so students can sit in it while they have a spare period. one thing i really like about the school is gym
6. I don't really like how I have to do 20-2 and 30-2 by correspondence. I went in a lower math because i felt that i couldn't do good in -1 courses. This is equally as difficult because i have to try to teach myself math and interrupt the -1 teacher if i'm stumped for a long time. I feel like our school should do more presentations on bullying in our school. I would also like to see our school have more courses to choose from. I don't enjoy taking any of my non-core classes other than gym. What i do like about our school is the small class sizes and most of our teachers, they have been really good so far with working around our schedules and making sure we don't get too much homework in all of our classes. I hope this doesn't change. I also like how our school is very involved in the community.
7. A better selection of courses would be a great opportunity for many older students. If we would like to take courses we have to do it online without a teacher teaching it to you which is more difficult.
8. I really do like our school. But, a few people do get away with things like swearing and bullying. I think there should be more awareness for things like that and then have them be dealt with. But everything else is okay.
9. we need a new school. but teachers are pretty good. my class treats ppl good\
10. I like that my school is small and everyone gets along with each other.
11. Our school is excellent. the learning environment, but the building needs some work. The building is dingy and feels old. The teacher and students make the building lively and enjoyable.
12. I think that all teachers shouldn't pick favorites. They might have students they like more than others but they shouldn't show that in class. We should also get more choices in courses and we should get to decide what we want to do to better our future. Teachers should also enforce rules a little more strictly so that the environment is always quiet.
13. I like gym.
14. There are people here who cause a lot of drama and there are people being bullied by others
15. I think that our school needs to have more courses to choose from.
16. Teachers are flexible and allow us to show what we know in different ways. There are a lot of options especially for a smaller school. I love Irma School!
17. I wish we could take Art courses and I would like to see gym in a more available time slot.
18. I like that our school encourages everyone and tries to help everyone succeed to the best of their abilities. However, our school should think about getting more options, so students have the chance to broaden their horizons. Having more options would also help when students want to make future plans after high school, making them more well rounded.
19. I really enjoy coming to school, and if it was an option i would come, i enjoy learning and how my teachers respect me, they understand that sometimes i need a little extra help grasping some concepts. I think that it would be really cool if we could have a french class or teach art class in Jr high. I feel very safe at school. Thank you for all that the teachers do here!!
20. our school is great but the building isnt
21. differet programs like mechanics technician stuff not just ia

School Priorities 2016-2019• Q: What is your staff’s shared professional learning goal or question that they seek to
answer?
• A: Our shared professional learning goal will be centered around the cross curricular competencies with the focus being:
• Applying multiple literacies, and thinking critically. • We will also continue our work on cross-curricular planning (focusing on increasing literacy
and numeracy in the subject areas we teach). • Our staff meetings will focus on sharing what we are doing in our classrooms and well as
building school wide knowledge of technology use in the classroom(mainly with google apps). • Irma teachers are also building a reading comprehension program (based upon The Reciprocal
Method for Teaching Reading Comprehension) which will be used in every subject at every level to increase reading comprehension and subject specific vocabulary.
• Levelled Literacy Intervention- All students will be reading at grade level upon advancing.
School Priorities 2016-2019“The rubber hits the road!”
• Task- What methods will you use to manage and
share new knowledge amongst staff members to
increase teacher effectiveness? (How will
artifacts be collected? How will they be stored?
How will co-constructed new learning be shared?)
• Measure- Staff will share during staff P.L. time
as a group. We will also set up shared folders in
Google Drive for the collection of artifacts.
Task- Teams need to collect and analyze student work (e.g.
performance tasks, podcasts, exit slips, interviews, written
assignments, standardized assessment, etc.) to frequently and
formatively measure the impact that implemented practices are
having on student learning. What processes/protocols will
teams use for this work?Measure- Teachers will have a schedule of a month that they
will bring in student work that they worked on according to our
P.D. plan to share with the staff for feedback. This won’t start
until at least two months into the school year. Task- What key professional learning strategies will you use to meet this goal?
Measure- The PIC will be utilized to work with teachers to build our cross-curricular competencies and inquiry based education skills.Lead teachers will be utilized to teach GAFE APP’s for the classroom. Teachers will work collaboratively to build and teach reading comprehension skills.
School Priorities 2016-2019
• Task- What internal accountability
structures will you put in place to promote
the implementation of new learning in
classrooms?
• Measure- Each teacher will bring their
learning to staff professional learning days
to share with other teachers. Teachers will
also set up with administration at least
twice a year, as a part of their supervision,
a lesson in which they built using our
shared learning goals which they built in
consultation with the PIC.
Task- What will ongoing support and
coaching for teachers look like in classrooms?
Measure- In consultation with our PIC as
to the division goals for the 206-17 school
year, I will have the PIC work with staff
members on goals the division has as well
