Dear Friends, We are just delighted to welcome many of you back again, along with lots of new faces, to our second Irish Women’s Convention.Thank you for joining us for, what we trust, is going to be a very special day, as we meet together to study God’s word.

We live in a world that believes in transformation … that longs for transforma-tion; a world that promises richer, faster, fitter, healthier, smoother, slimmer, trendier, happier … you name it - it’s out there, whereas Jesus is interested in transforming what’s in there. He is in the business of transforming us from the inside out – not with a pill or a lotion or a new routine, or even a surgeon’s knife, but with His piercing, all-powerful, life-giving Word. And that’s what today is all about.

We’re thrilled to welcome Kathleen Nielson and Ann Benton amongst us. Both Kathleen and Ann are women who have experienced God’s transforming work in their own lives and are here to open up the Bible today, to point us to the One who has the power to work real miracles and bring about real transformation in our hearts and in the hearts of those with whom we rub shoulders every day.

Our ongoing prayer for today has been that all of us will encounter God, be transformed and leave with a deep desire to bless the lives of others with His word. May God bless each of you deeply.

Chair of IWC

welcome!

You Can Change Tim Chester

Don’t be put off by the title - this is definitely not a ‘self-help’ book, but a ‘God-help’ book! God not only has an agenda for personal change, but He also supplies the power to bring that change about. This is an encouraging read for all of us who struggle with sinful behaviour or negative emotions of any description.

The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness Tim Keller

‘A truly liberating book for anyone who’s ever worried about what other people think of them or been caught up in conflict.’ In a world obsessed with ‘self-esteem,’ Tim Keller explores the antidote; gospel-humility.

Uncover Rebecca Manley PippertA series of 6 Bible studies based on the Gospel of Luke, designed for discussion with non-believers who want to find out more about Jesus for themselves. This is a resource that has taken our university Christian Unions by storm!

‘Exclusive: The Uniqueness of Christ and His Mission.’ A weekend conference with Dr. Don Carson.Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The conference will explore our conviction that Jesus Christ is the only means of salvation in the context of a religiously pluralistic society and will renew our confidence in Christ as the only Saviour and Lord. Our hope is that this conference will rekindle a passion to proclaim the good news about Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.
