Irene Katsouri – Honor Frost Foundation 2016 Irene holds a Bachelor’s degree in Illustration from the University in Brighton and a Master’s degree in Interactive Multimedia from the Cyprus University of Technology. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Field Archaeology on Land and under the Sea at the University of Cyprus. Her interest in digital applications for archaeology and cultural heritage served as the motivation for developing an immersive 3D visualization application, as part of her first Master’s thesis. She has participated in two underwater archaeological projects in Cyprus (Nissia Shipwreck, in 2014 and Mazotos Shipwreck, in 2015 and 2016). She has been employed as a research assistant at the Maritime Archaeological Research Laboratory (MARELab), University of Cyprus, since December 2015, a position externally funded by the Honor Frost Foundation, United Kingdom. Irene works under the direction of Dr Stella Demesticha and some of her duties include reconstructing the 3D site models for both the Mazotos and Nissia shipwrecks, assisting with the organisation of MARELab fieldwork projects as well as conducting training sessions for students on the different applications used in MARELab projects.
