Q: How will Stat Reg and CORU affect

you as a Private Practitioner?

A: If a complaint is made against you,

this will be dealty with by CORU when

Stat Reg comes in. Review of previous

complaints indicate that complaints

arise from several areas:-

From another colleague A customer service issue from

a patient Complaints regarding poor

documentation Complaints regarding

inappropriate behaviour

While a complaint is being

investigated, your clinic may be shut

down, pending the result of the

investigation. If the complaint is

justified, the penalty may range from a

monetary fine, to being removed from

the register. If you are not fit to

practice and are removed from the

register, this will mean you cannot call

yourself a Physiotherapist, so you will

not be able to work as a

Physiotherapist. Thus as CORU will

decide on a Clinician's 'Fitness To

Practice', and complaints are a

PHYSIOFIRST CONFERENCE

'Soft Tissue: The Hard Truths' is on

Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th

March in Nottingham. It's a great

line-up of speakers, including Lyn

Watson and Jill Cook - see Physio

into East Midlands Airport from

Dublin, and it's a short taxi ride to

the conference centre. See you all
