44. Additional CommentsText ResponseGot misleading info about job opportunities existing outside of traditional police officer, corrections officer, and loss preventionI feel that it is difficult to gain employment in my field of study in this region. Once I get my graduate degree I will have to move to a different state to gain employment.most clinical instructors were so unsupportive, negative and overly critical it eas extremely difficult to put your best foot forard when working with potential employers.I am very proud of the education I received while at EKU. Also, my current job is working with persons with a Chemical Dependency which includes working directly with law enforcement of all types. I have already used a great deal of the information I learned while attending EKU!I chose EKU initially for its low tuition and renowned department of justice and safety (I actually recieved two degrees, but this survey does not allow me to disclose that). By the time I graduated, my tuition costs had more than doubled since I had entered the university just five years before. What I found the most disturbing is that I saw none of the funds go towards improving MY program in the department of social sciences. If not for witnessing the passion carried by some of the more exceptional professors I had during my time there, I would have left EKU and condemned it in front of anyone who asked. This is something that needs to be addressed if EKU expects to keep any of its humanities programs as viable majors. Pay your best employees what they deserve (especially those in sociology and gender studies) or you will struggle to retain students in the future.I have a bachelor (2010) and master degree (2013) in elementary education, but can't find a job. There are too many teachers graduating from college, and not enough job openings. The Computer Science, needs more funding and a better building/area only meant for Computer Science students.Eku did not prepare me for a job search or getting my first teaching jobI enjoyed most of my classes at EKU. I am glad they brought the program online. I wanted to attend EKU after high school, but due to living in ohio it wasn't an option. The co-op office was more of an obstacle than an aid in all steps of the way; searching for my own internships and working with faculty proved way more effective in securing internships & interviews with a lot less hoops to jump through.I found my own job. EKU career services did not help me find this job. This degree enhanced my job position as well as providing credibility to my work performance. There are some things I was not prepared for when I recieved my job. I do wish EKU's middle grade education program included a classroom management course. I also wish I would have done the full year of student teaching. It is not professionally acceptable to disclose your salary unless it is anonymous in a survey. Thanks to Dr. Rudick and Career Services for teaching me how to interview effectively. I went from a BA in General Studies to a full time salaried sales representative in less than a year. The only reason I got a degree was because I had a full scholarship and everyone would have been disappointed in me if I didn't.Not happy with the degree I have I cannot find a job in this field unless I have experience. Now I have to go back to school for another degree to gain experience so maybe one day I will be able to work in the field I set out to work in.Veri satisfied with my overall experienceProud to be a Colonel.I kept a perfect 4.0 for my whole college career, joined many clubs, scored very high on all tests, and always tried to be the best. However, none of that seems to matter at all when trying to get a job. I know numerous people, who I graduated with, that were mediocre in

school yet got a job right away. Although I love teaching, I wish I had chosen a different career because getting a job is ridiculous. It's all about who you know or are realted to, and that's not right. Students need to be aware of this fact.EKU is overpriced and poorly managed. The Social Work Program requirements need work so that people who actually care can get in even if the fall .5 gpa points from meeting those said requirementsI loved EKU and I miss it!Would have worked harder in undergrad
