Message of Majid Shayesteh: We are proud that through this excellent workshop, today Iran joins the nations that implement the ITF Play+Stay and Tennis 10s’ projects. Hereby, I would like to thank the International Tennis Federation for their great job of introducing Tennis 10s’ and in support of the ITF campaign we open this “Introduction to Tennis 10s’ Workshop” today which is attended by 126 tennis coaches and school teachers. I would also thank our experts and workshop organizers for this professional job which is the Iran’s largest tennis educational program in recent years. I believe that coaches’ education is an important aspect of tennis development and I hope participants benefit the valuable content of this program today and tomorrow.

Message of Mohammad Jamshidi: First, I would like to welcome all the school teachers and tennis coaches coming from tennis clubs in Tehran. Through recent development activities we managed to attract more than 1000 kids (girls) to tennis at their schools and I’m sure this program will guarantee our success in competitive tennis in the future. In support of Tennis 10s’ we used the excellent facilities of Iran Broadcasting International Conference Center (IICC) in Tehran and all the Tehran Tennis Association staff worked very eagerly to organize this workshop successfully. Hereby, I would like to thank Ms. Sedigheh Hassani, the TTA Vice-President, who worked really hard to take tennis to schools.

Message of Alireza Khoroushi: International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) consider some determining factors to assess tennis development in different nations and new campaigns, Play+Stay and Tennis 10s’, are among them. This is a pleasure that Iran is now implementing the program through organizing this magnificent workshop which is the result of the appreciable job done by Iranian experts. High quality tennis education for school teachers and tennis coaches in the area of grassroots will surly lead to success of a nation in tennis in the future.

Message of Sedigheh Hassani: In a very short period we managed to implement our Tennis 10s’ program at the following schools: Raahe Shayestegan, Shahid Mahdavi, Raahe Roshd, Kherad and Afarinesh. Today is a great and memorable day for tennis Iran because all the planning and organization done by Tehran Tennis Association as well as participation of a large number of coaches and teachers led to a successful educational program. No doubt, efforts of the organizers of this workshop made it the largest ever reported Tennis 10s’ program in Asia. Conducting educational programs of this hand is among important activities to prepare the interested teachers and coaches to work on U10 development programs and is one of the best ways of making schools and tennis clubs closer. Play+Stay is the new ITF development campaign and Tennis 10s’ is an important element which focuses on U10 promotion and development specifically. I’m really pleased that we managed to introduce this project to a large number of tennis coaches and school teachers on a high quality and well organized program during the past two days. Also, this way, we had to make sure that our coaches are fully aware of the Rule Changes to be in place from 2012. Finally, I wish, by support of I.R. Iran Tennis Federation, Provincial Associations as well as other tennis-sport bodies involved, we take the high quality educational programs of this hand to other provinces and areas of Iran. 27/01/2011 Amir Borghei
