The verb “ir”
• The verb “ir” is an irregular verb.

• To say where somebody is going, use the verb “ir.”
Conjugations of the verb “ir”(yo) voy (nosotros)
vamos(nosotras)
(tú) vas (vosotros) vais(vosotras)
(Ud.) va(él)(ella)
(Uds.) van(ellos)(ellas)
Ir
• In Spanish, the verb “ir” is almost always followed by “a.”
– For example: Vamos al parque. • We go to the park.
– Or Ellos van a la piscina. • They go to the swimming pool.
A + el = al
• Remember that a+el= al– What is wrong with this sentence?: Voy a el café.

• To ask where someone is going, use ¿Adónde?– ¿Adónde vas? Where are you going?

• In Spanish, you will often hear people say İVamos! which means “Let’s go!”
