I Therapy principle

A Biological stimulation: Light chemistry on skin by intensive pulse light will enable collagen

fiber and stretch fiber bosom in derma to change molecular structure to restore to original elasticity. In

addition, the light energy produced can tone up the blood vessel to improve circulation so as to

eliminate wrinkle and to reduce pore in size.

B Light-energy-melting: Since the pigment groups contained inside the pathological change

tissues are far more than those inside the ordinary skin tissues, the temperature increase upon light

absorption of the pigments is higher than the one by the ordinary skin tissue. The temperature

difference can block out the blood vessel of pathological change, which finally can decompose the

pigments and do not destroy ordinary tissues.

C The operation method of IPL system is based on selective light-energy-melting as well. The

dark pigments can absorb relatively short-wavelength light between 250-1200nm, while light

absorption peak value of oxygenated hemoglobin is at 418, 542 and 577nm respectively. Thus, the

wavelength light at 530nm can be easily absorbed by dark pigments and oxygenated hemoglobin,

which can produce energy to destroy the collagen fiber. It is understood that collagen fiber can greatly

absorbs lights at the wavelength between 400-600nm. Therefore, part of the light at the wavelength

between 530-1200nm by IPL system can be absorbed by collagen fiber, which leads to activation of

fiber cell and increase of collagen synthesis. Not only can increase of Type I collagen be seen, but also

of Type III collagen. Because most of Type III collagen can be seen around blood vessel, IPL system

can effectively change precipitation of pigment, abate expansion of capillary vessel, alleviate fine

wrinkle, contract pore and improve skin texture and overall character.

II Therapy scope

1 Effectively cure facial redness (dilation of capillary vessel), remove facial redness.

2 Effectively contract pore, remove or alleviate tumefaction and scar.

3 Increase thickness of skin collagen and restore skin elasticity.

4 Furthest clean or reduce freckle, age pigment and other kinds of pigment precipitation etc.

8 On non-facial skin: whiten body skin.

I Safety of IPL (Intensive Pulse Light)

IPL system is a hi-tech medical equipment, specializing in removal of all kinds of facial flaw and

bodily excessive hair in a safe and reliable way. Only qualified operator can safely run the system in a

reasonable operation and maintenance manner. All people including operator, maintenance personnel

and other assisting personnel shall fully understand the safety info provided hereto in this chapter.

Most importantly, IPL system has already put the safety of patient, operator and others into great

consideration at a maximum level. The some of safety methods are listed below:

1 Self-check will be on automatically once the system starts. And it shall continue to be

monitoring the electric circuit during operation.

2 Closed light filter/ light-transmitting crystal is introduced to transmit to the affected skin.

Pulse light can be sent through frond end of the light-transmitting crystal.

3 The safety electric circuit is adopted within the system. And it can cut the electrics when

intensive light output is excessive.

4 Red emergency button is designed to cut the electrics in case of any emergency.

5 Key lock is introduced to prevent any misuse of system.

Notice

Any wrongdoing of intensive light transmitting system can cause bodily injury. IPL system may

produce high voltage during operation. Operator shall keep alert always and shall take any required

measures in compliance with this manual.

Patients:

The safety of patients is subject to the qualified physician and well designed surgery room. And the

culture traits of patients are as well important, and patients shall understand the therapy principle. And

eyes of patients shall be fully and effectively protected during intensive light treatment.

Medical staffs:

Medical staffs may be exposed to the intensive light during surgery and should get the protection glass

at corresponding wavelength against the light. Therefore, medical staffs shall wear protection glass of

Type 3.

Surgery room:

“Highly intensive light in use” shall be clearly displayed in the surgery room.

Warning

To ensure the safety use of IPL system, please understand the safety precaution and read the following

safety measures:


Chapter Two Operation of IPL system


1 No technician is allowed to examine IPL system without authorization of our company,

especially internal parts, including power supply, cooling system, optic components and

intensive light curing head etc. please note that high voltage is inside the system.

2 Please make sure that rated voltage of IPL system is in full accordance with the main

voltage of your country

3 User can carry out maintenance only when system is switched off and the power supply wire

is plugged out. Maintenance with power supply on may cause bodily injury and mangle the

system as well.

4 Light-transmitting crystal shall always be kept clean. Please do not let coupling jello seep

into the curing head.

5 If water leakage of curing head is found, do not start the system. If it is on already, please

switch off the system immediately.

6 It must be sure of that the hole of the input water must be open when during use .

Warning about intensive light

1 Intensive light may cause injury to eye and may lead to fire or burn. Please take all

protection measures necessary when it is in use.

2 Excessive light towards surgery skin may cause skin burn, which may lead to increase,

shrink or abnormality of pigment precipitation.

3 Do not look directly at intensive light or laser from curing head even protection glass is

worn.

4 Do not direct curing head of intensive light into air. The curing head shall be placed on the

hook if it is not in use, while it shall be pointing at surgery skin only if it is.

II Safety of electric and mechanics

1 Keep all panel and cover closed. It may cause danger if the cover is open.

2 High voltage is produced inside IPL system. Some may still be left even after the power

supply is cut. Therefore, no technician is allowed to open the system except our authorized

personnel.

3 Do not connect to the power supply, or open the cover or leave it without care during

maintenance.

4 IPL may weigh as much as 40 kg. It may cause bodily injury if system moves improperly. It

will be moved without damage once it is slowly moved in a cautious manner.

5 Three-core cable is adopted, one core is for grounding, and good grounding is vital to the

operation safety.

Fire prevention

1 Objects will increase temperature by absorbing light energy. Therefore, take protection

measures to reduce the tinderbox, which may cause fire, located at the operation area or



hereabout.

2 No alcohol or acetone or other flammable material is allowed to treat the affected skin

before operation. If required, please use soap and water.

3 If alcohol is used to clean IPL system or other components for disinfection, the system shall

not be started until it entirely goes dry.

Safety device

1 IPL system is equipped with some safety device and all personnel inside the surgery room

shall fully understand the location and operation of the device.

2 Key switch: Key is for the purpose of switching on and off IPL system. Only keys provided

by us shall start the system.

3 Power supply indicator: Red. The indicator is on, which means the system is connected.

4 Emergency switch: The red mushroom-type switch is for the emergency use to switch off

the system. Press down the switch, and the system will be disconnected immediately no

matter what status the system is on. And release the switch by turning the switch clockwise,

otherwise the system shall remain off.

Self-check

On start, the system electric circuit will go into self-check mode. Under this condition, operator shall

leave the system to run automatically for 1-3 minutes and be prepared for the next step.

Key switch(the left button): Total power switch of whole machine, follow the hour hand to⑨

revolve for to switch on, the anti- hour hand revolve in order to shut down, the whole machine power

failure.

① Power supply: Press“ ”----open the machine; the indicated light will be red.

Press “ ”----close the machine. The indicated light will turn off.② Adding water hole: adding the water for the machine

③ The handle connector: hold the handle connectors into the sockets on the machine.

④ Fan: machine heat dissipation.

⑤ Overflowing hole: when you add the water for the machine, should open this hole. And if there are

water flow that means the machine water is full.

⑥ Turn on water or drainage water: before the long-distance transportation. Should turn on the water

of the machine, and keep the machine dry.

II The instrument screen interface diagram shows and explains

1. Connect 110V or 220V power supply according the machine power supply. (Notice the label on the

machine)

2. Turn on the machine power supply to “ ” the light will be change into red.

3. Open the machine key switch in clockwise. The machine will be like below:

About 3 second, the machine will automatically enter into the next interface. See below picture.

4. Press “SIMMER” key, when you hear a large sound. That means handle is lighted.

5. And then press “up” key to adjust the main passage, the chosen area will be white. For example, we

choose the hair removal passage. (Interface two)



And then press “enter” key to enter the next interface in order to adjust the parameter. (interface 3)

The above picture indicated parameter instructions, pls see below:

⑴Pamt1:

It is the number of pulse. The adjustable scope is1-6.

⑵P1s1:

It is the first pulse width. The adjustable scope is 1.0－20.0ms.

⑶D1y1:

It is the first pulse delay. The adjustable scope is 1－99ms.

⑷P1sn1:

It is the second pulse width. The adjustable scope is 1.0－20.0ms.

⑸D1yn:

It is the second pulse delay. The adjustable scope is 1－99ms.

It is the repeat frequency. The adjustable scope is 1/2/3/4.Hz

6.All this done, the parameter adjust is OK! Press “enter” key to save the parameter. And then press

“up” key to adjust energy. See below: (interface four)

7. Now can do the treatment!

8. The power-off explains: press “simmer” key, the handle light will be turn off. That means it will go

back to the screen one. At this moment, turn the key switch in left rotation, the machine will turn off.

The operation is finished.

Complement:

Menu setting, press “menu” key, can set the language, and other information connects to the machine,

see below picture:

III Installation

1 place: Place instrument is steady in the indoor temperature 22-28, the degree of humidity is no

bigger than 20% clean operating room or treatment rooms.



2 installations as follows: A: install the handle tray and handle.

B: Link the power supply;

C: According the treatment choose the inserted piece wavelength, detailed information,

pls consult Reference schedule for therapy period

3 Adding water A. the first adding water: after connect the machine with the handle, then fix the

funnel, adding the purified water, and at the same time open the overflowing hole,

when the overflowing hole have water flow, that’s means water is full.

B、Second adding water: then let the machine run 2 minute, and then give the machine

adding the second water according the first adding way. Because when the machine

run, water will run to the operation handle, so need adding the water again. So can

confirm enough water to let the machine work.

C、In summer or the room temperature pass 28 centigrade degree,，notice before add

water, should put the water in the refrigerator, and then can get lower degree water. But

can’t frozen.

4、after completing, insert the key and turn to right ( the assurance is nasty to stop the button at play

and rise the position) of the instrument key, the whole machine switches on electricity right away,

at this time water circulation, the instrument cooling system starts automatically.

5、the observation pipe line connects whether is leaking or not. If leaking, turn off the power, press

clockwise revolve tightly.

6、operation should notice:

·unpack, put the machine in the stable and non multiaspect circuit place.

·text the machine and parts integrity.

·adding water: Must the purified water or distilled water, can’t add the tap water or mineral water.

·install the treatment handle: make sure the correct installation and its immobility.

·connect the power supply: must accordance with local power voltage.

·test whether all the button key is normal.

7、Change the handle inserted piece step:

▲close the xenon lamp, when necessary, close the machine power supply.

▲pull out the original inserted piece

▲install the new inserted piece according the operation way.

▲turn on the machine again, let the machine run about 1 minute and then lamp the light (press

simmer key)

▲test the new inserted piece flash.

8、Notice： ◆In the machine have high voltage, please must confirm all the cover is good.

◆when open the machine, please put the handle in the handle tray.

◆all the people in the treatment room should wear glasses.

◆Do not look directly into the intensive light from the therapy head.

◆Do not point the therapy head at any direction other than the targeting skin.


Chapter Four Instrument operation instructions


I Notes

A. The operator should establish record for the client (can reference the sample). In addition to this,

the operator should also need know the client symptoms very well, and patiently explain to the client

the IPL technology and achieve the cooperation of the client

B. Before the treatment, should clean the treat area, and need to disinfect the appliance.

C.The operator should wear white coat and wear glassed.

III Clinical application guidance

▪1 Eye protection

All operators shall keep the eyes of patients from intensive lights in order to protect the retina, and

shall have them wear the protection glass. When the naked eye is close to the operation area, have the

patients wear the opaque protection glass.

•2 Operation

Anesthesia is not required for low energy pulse light. But most patients wish to have part anesthetic

during operation to avoid any discomforts. Generally, use 4% lidocaine to have bodily part anesthetic.

Please do not use EMLA to anesthetize since it may cause blood vessel to shrink, which may reduce

the therapy achievement by IPL system. Generally, operation may be carried out one hour after the

anesthesia. Please note that rinse all the anesthesia remained before operation.

▪3 Side effect

The whole skin tendering process by IPL system takes about 3 to 6 times with 21-45 days interval

between each time. It is found that skin quality has been improved dramatically. At meantime, it can

assure that patients do not need to change the schedule to be in conformity with the periods. Of

course, temporary slight side effect may occur. But most symptoms may appear as follow:

Pains: some patients may feel pain at different grade when intensive pulse transmits. Some says it

feels like pin piercing, while others say it feels like being flipped by rubber band. And perception of

burn can last as long as one hour. Most adults and senior children can put up with this kind of

discomfort, but some patients request for partial anesthesia.

Breakage of skin natural texture: it may cause scab or blain, which takes 5-10 days to recover.

Alternation of pigment precipitation: it may alter pigment precipitation within the treated skin.

Most of the excessive or insufficient pigment precipitation may appear on the dark skin or on the skin

exposed to the sun light. To some patients, exposition to the sunlight after operation can cause pigment

precipitation, which takes 3-6 months to recover. But permanent pigment precipitation may occur

occasionally. Freckle and beauty spot may become dark in color after surgery. But it will disappear in

a short period.

Scar: the possibility of scar (such as large size scar or very few or other unnamed abnormal

hyperplasia tissue) produced by IPL system is very tiny. In order to reduce the danger of scar after

surgery, please comply with the post-surgery care.

Excessive red turgescence: temporary turgescence with skin on nose may occur after surgery, which

takes 3-7 days to recover.

Skin fragility: the skin within or around the treated skin may become fragile. Do not make up at this

time, nor rub the treated skin to avoid skin from avulsion.

Excessive blue turgescence: blue turgescence may occur to the skin within the treated skin and will

last as long as 5-15 days. Then it may become rusting red color, which takes about 1-3 weeks to



recover.

•4 Different response by different people.

(1)Inserted piece wavelength 530-1200nm can treat Type I, II, III,IV skin.

(2) 640-1200nm can treat Type I II III and IV type hair removal. Normally V and VI type don’t

receive the strong light treatment.

(3) Classification method of Fizes Patrick for reaction at skin exposition to sunlight is

▪5 Treatment explain

(i) Patients have to close the eyes and sit in the therapy chair or lie in the bed. Operator

shall wear the protection glass and remind the patients to keep eyes closed during

surgery. Operator shall select the most suitable place to carry out the surgery.

(ii) Press the start to transmit the light pulse.

(iii) If extra surgery is required to coordinate the effect, operator shall select the energy

density accordingly to achieve the better effect. But before that, the facula test is to be

carried out.

(iv) Skin tendering and depilation shall use cooling head.

(v) No post-surgery care is required after the surgery. And patients can go back to work as

before. But general anti suntan has to be carried out to the treated skin. And appropriate

skin tendering can help IPL system to smoothen pigment groups, decrease pore in size,

lighten pigment precipitation and alleviate light aging process.

(vi) After surgery, color precipitation and brown facula in color will deepen, which takes a

few days to recover.

▪6 Post-surgery care

(1)Blain or ulcer on skin produced after surgery can be treated with antibiotics or ointment for burn.

Low chroma ointment can be applied as well. If blain gets scab, use Vaseline to keep the skin

moistening.

(2) Client shall use highly factor light-shielding ointment to keep the treated skin from the sunlight.

Sunlight may cause dark pigment to repeat production, which may lead to excessive pigment

precipitation.



(3) After one week of the hair removal, do not drink wine. And avoid bath use hot water or sauna.

(4)Most doctors permit patients to use cosmetics after surgery. But they demand that if any scab or

breakage on the treated skin is found, patients shall inform the hospital immediately and shall stop

make-up. Generally, the risk of low energy skin tendering surgery by IPL system is very tiny, which

enables patients to go back to normal life safely after surgery.


Chapter Five Maintenance


I General maintenance

1 Please turn off the system and pull out the power line before maintenance. It is harmful to

carry out maintenance for users and the system with power on.

2 Cleaning of light transmitting crystal: keep light transmitting crystal clean always. Clean the

crystal after each surgery. Use clean soft cotton piece to wipe the crystal, then apply soft

cotton piece dipped with ethanol to wipe the system till it goes dry thoroughly.

3 Affusion of water tank: one month is a cycle.

4 Precaution:

(1). Must add enough lower degree water in order the machine good circle.

(2) Protective glass: the operator should wear glasses in the treatment.

(3) Condensation glue: Every treatment should use gel.

II Troubleshooting

1 No power supply for starting the system

(1) Examine the power supply on the power line, and the connection

(2) Red emergency switch is not on. Please turn it right to the uplift position.

2 No light output

(1) Examine whether “WORK” is pressed down

(2) Whether handle switch is right. If it is broken, please change it immediately. Judgment:

open the key switch, and press the switch on the handle without simmer on and at non-work

status. If no periodic sound like suction can be heard, the switch is broken.

3 Reduction of light output

(1) Low energy, which disables the system

(2) Output window is clean, and clean the lens head accordingly.

(3) Any leakage with handles or head. If so, change it accordingly.

(1) Use life is expired. And change the handle.

4 Power supply cut without reason

Turn off the system and restart it. If no intensive light output or the electric circuit

malfunctions, contact us for maintenance.

5 During operation, feel of electric shock

(1) Dry weather may cause static electricity due to body friction. Be advised to wear

costume with less chemical fiber.

(2) Please change to three pin socket if not. Electric wire and power socket shall be



equipped with grounding wire.

(3) Please provide stable power supply if not.

6 Water leakage

(1) Water leakage with handle.

(2) Water leakage caused by severe shake during transportation.

(3) Water leakage with water tank and water pump.

7 No simmer

Please extend simmer time for a few more minutes after start-up. If still, please contact us to

change the gun head.

If any of the above mentioned arises, please contact us immediately.

III Repair upon return-to-manufacturer

If any problem about the machine happened, u can contact us by Email ,on which u can tell us the

symptom of the problem .or telephone us .We will solve your problems as soon as possible . If the

machine needs to change components, please send us the broken components back to us, we will

repair or send new components back to you.


Chapter Six Service documents for Cosmetology application (for reference only)


I IPL technology instruction

IPL system is a new technology, without peeling off and with accurate contact, designated for

cosmetology industry. This technology adopts intensive pulse light with energy density at 20-40 J/cm 2

to achieve a better result of skin tendering.

At present, IPL system is the leading advanced skin tendering system worldwide, which transmits

intensive pulse light with spectrum at specific wavelength to penetrate skin. The intensive light can be

absorbed by blood vessel and pigment tissue so as to condensate the capillary vessel and dissolve the

pigment group. Meanwhile, it can stimulate the collagen tissue to reorganize and proliferate to restore

the skin elasticity. IPL system can remove all kinds of facial blemish, drive out or lighten the damage

caused by erythema and pigment of facial blood vessel. And no bad reaction towards face after

surgery has been reported so far, and it will not interfere with your daily work and study.

II Cosmetology agreement

Notice before the surgery

1 Fully understand the introduction of IPL system.

2 The cosmetologist has tried his/her best to achieve the best result. Due to personal taste for

cosmetology and the current the limitation of cosmetology, the surgery may not satisfy your

needs entirely. Our clinic will take all measures to improve the cosmetology effect.

3 At present, IPL system is the most advanced and safe cosmetology solution, but it is not

omnipotent. Due to personal characteristics, the following side effect may occur before or

after the surgery:

A. Partial rube faction or turgescence

B. Excessive or insufficient pigment precipitation

C. Partial facial scab or blain

D. Alleviate symptom by some degree to those severe skin blemish

E. Some patients may feel abnormal with the treated skin

F. Fragile skin texture

G. Blue turgescence

4 To achieve the best cosmetology effect, patients shall strictly abide by the oral or written

notice of cosmetologist. If any discomforts, please come to the hospital for further check-up

immediately. And the patients shall take full responsibility of any consequences arising out

of any delay of further check-up.
