Collaborative Practice Competencies

• Interprofessional Education is an avenue through which we can help our students develop and practice collaborative practice competencies.

• Competency:

An observable ability of a health professional, integrating multiple components such as knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes.

• Competency acquisition is developmental and should be reinforced across all levels of training and across cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains.

• Can be measured and assessed to ensure acquisition.

Collaborating Across Borders Conference Series Collaborating Across Borders (CAB) is a premier Canada-United States joint

conference focusing on an exploration of common issues around interprofessional

education (IPE) and practice (IPP). The Collaborating Across Borders conference

series launched in 2007 as an interprofessional venue where educators, clinicians,

researchers, policy makers and students on both sides of the border engaged in rich

and productive dialogue regarding interprofessional education, practice and research. The conference series is held biennially and travels between the United

States and Canada.
