Authorship of publications shall be according to the Vancouver Guidelines(http://www.icmje.org/ethical_1author.html)

This means that authors substantially contribute to:

f(a) conception and design, or analysis and interpretation of data;

(b) drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectualcontent;

(c) final approval of the version to be published.

Conditions (a), (b), and (c) all must be met. Participation solely in theacquisition of funding or the collection of data does not justifyauthorship.

5. Within a week after approval, the paper proposal is put on the IPENwebsite. Additional partners who would like to serve as co-authors butare not yet included in the proposal should actively contact the leadauthor within a period of 3 weeks.

6. Lead authors should circulate early outlines, drafts, as well as finaldrafts among co authors prior to submission including information ondrafts among co-authors prior to submission, including information ontarget journal. Lead authors are encouraged to assign sections to co-authors to speed manuscript development.

7. In order to qualify as a co-author, active participation is required. Ifpotential co-authors do not provide feedback on manuscript draftsthey will not be included as co-authors in the final paper.

8. All the authors and Principal Investigators involved in the paper shouldapprove the final draft before it is submitted to the selected journal. 9. The first author as indicated on the publication proposal is responsible forsubmitting the paper to the agreed journal, for dealing withreviewers/editorial comments, and for checking the proofs.

In all the published papers, posters, et cetera, it must be stated that the work has been done within the framework of the IPEN-project.

Abstracts intended for oral/poster presentation and based on IPEN collaborative datawill be sent to the project coordinators and the co-authors. All the participants involvedhave to be informed about the location and time of the conference. Failure of co-authorsto reply within 7 days will be taken as consent with the content and the co-authorship ofthe abstract Presenters will inform the project coordinators if an abstract has beenthe abstract. Presenters will inform the project coordinators if an abstract has beenaccepted for presentation, and the project coordinator will put the abstract on thewebsite.

Rules for Invited PresentationsIn addition to the above, no person invited to speak about the IPEN-project or "on behalfof the IPEN-project" should do so without prior approval of the IPEN steering committee.If an abstract is required the person invited should follow the rules for oral/posterIf an abstract is required, the person invited should follow the rules for oral/posterpresentations.

Duration of the publication rulesThese publication rules are written for the IPEN project in order to facilitate thepublication process. They will have a duration of 6 years
