The process inherently lacked the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of information being gathered and published to management.” The Solution We moved to K4 Analytics. Our Project Management Office decided that the K4 extension would be better due to its seamless integration with Qlik, our existing BI and data integration platform. K4 allows all of our consultants to enter their own planned hours for the foreseeable weeks ahead. K4 allows us to project a week at a time, or several weeks out what our utilization is going to be. Each consultant puts in the hours of the person who is expected to work by customer and project. Accounting for all of our consultants this way results in a Utilization % and facilitates a discussion regarding unplanned hours. We have clear visibility in how many consultants we have that we could move to a new project or how flexible we can be with a customer. We integrate this planning with our actual results to see our forecast accuracy. The capabilities of K4 Analytics has taken our firm to the next level of capability and maturity with regards to operations planning. Case Study

The Project

We segmented our project into Initializing data integration to pull Orders (projects) and

Resources (consultants) from our accounting system. With this information in our Qlik

with K4, our PMO was able to maintain what resources were assigned to what orders.

Finally, our consultants are able to enter their time and process results that give rise to

our capacity planning. We save many hours every week in data process and have confident

weekly meetings discussing our capacity. Our customers see this in our planning and

execution in their projects.

These are the main screens to assign, plan, input the hours planned to work on each client.

With a quick refresh the client list is updated, and we can activate or de-activate a client

with a simple check.
