Shutting Down the iPad

Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button down at the same time until a red slider bar appears

Slide the bar to the right and it will shut down the iPad

◦Conserves Battery Life◦Recovery from a Freeze (reboot)

Downloading Apps

Find the App Store icon on the home screenAt the bottom there are options of how you

can searchOnce you find the App you are looking for,

click the price which will then turn into a green button that says install ◦If the app is free, it will automatically download, if

it’s not a price will appear◦ If it is not free, the app will install if you have

money on your iTunes account. If no money is there scroll down and click the account button for payment options

How to Close AppsDouble click the Home

button◦ At the bottom of the screen,

all open apps will appear Press and hold the App

you want to close until it begins to shake and a red minus sign appears

Touch the minus sign until the App icon disappears ◦ You can do this for all open

appsPress the Home button

when you are done

How to get Deleted Apps Back

Go to the App StoreSearch for the name of

the App that was deletedYou will get a prompt that

you have already purchased this App and have an option of re-installing without cost

ORConnect your iPad to a

computer and find it under the Apps tab in iTunes

Recheck the box in iTunes to get the App

Moving & Organizing Apps

Moving AppsPlace your finger on

the App you want to move

Hold down until the Apps starts jiggling

Hold your finger down on the App you want to move and slide it to where you want it

To go to a different screen, pull the app to the edge of the screen until it changes

FoldersTo group Apps, when the

Apps are jiggling, move the one App you want to group with another on top of each other

A folder name will come up ◦ You can title the folder

anything you wantYou can add up to 12

Apps per folderJust tap the folder to

open the Apps inside

Putting Websites on the Home Screen

Go to Safari and browse for the website you wish to use

Click the arrow on the left of the URL field

Tap on Add to Home ScreenEdit the name of the

website and tap AddSafari will close and you will

see your shortcut on the home screen

For older generation iPads that have the 30 pin connector you will need one of the following chords:
