The use of network services for the 'daily work' (E-Mail etc.) has to be done through the KOM/student network. 2) If experiments need to be conducted (e.g. experiments with peer-2-peer services, TCP stack modifications, etc.) which could potentially be perceived as 'illegal services' or as an attack to external network entities, the supervisor of the work must be informed beforehand. 3) MAC filters on the APs have to be activated with appropriate setting all the time. IP LAB: Rules and Regulations

1) The use of the experimental network is limited to conducting the actual research experiments.

WEP encryption has to be activated by default, if experiments without WEP need to be conducted, the deactivation of WEP has to be constraint to the duration of those experiments (i.e. WEP has to be activated again, as soon as the experiment is over).

4) People that are interested in conducting research experiments with the experimental network can obtain the necessary access passwords as well as WEP keys from Bjarke Freund-Hansen ([email protected]). However, passwords & keys must not be passed on to third persons. Furthermore, the passwords & keys will be changed at the end of each semester.

IP LAB: Rules and Regulations

1)Usage limited to research experiments and teaching

2) ‘Suspicious’ Experiments need to be conducted inform supervisor

3) MAC filters and WEP encryption on the WLAN APs have to be activated all times

4) Contact Bjarke Freund-Hansen ([email protected]) for access to equipment. Passwords & keys must not be passed on to anyone else.
