OBITUARIES John Hushagen Feb. 24, 1943-Dec. 3, 2018 IOWA FALLS J ohn Hushagen, 75, of Iowa Falls, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at the Mary Greeley Medical Cen- ter in Ames. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Fri- day, Dec. 14, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ackley. Private family burial will be at the Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thurs- day, Dec. 13, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. at the Wood- ley Funeral Home. Wood- ley Funeral Home, LLC of Iowa Falls is caring for Mr. Hushagen and his family. John Paul Hushagen was born on Feb. 24, 1943, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Julius and Alice (Krebs Warren) Hushagen. He graduat- ed from Teachers College High School and State College of Iowa (UNI), re- ceiving his B.A. degree. On Aug. 8, 1964, he was united in marriage to Jane Wilson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poca- hontas. John was a devot- ed instructor in the Iowa Falls Community School District, retiring after 37 years of teaching. In their free time, John and Jane enjoyed traveling. John loved to read and liked wood working and model railroading. He loved all kinds of music. She grew up on the family farm in the Steam- boat Rock area and was a graduate of Steamboat Rock High School. Darline was an honor roll student and played on the girls’ basketball team. Darline was united in marriage to Glenn Lee Taylor in Taylor County in the state of Texas on June 12, 1943. Together they had three children, Gary, Donna and Terry. Dar- line was a farmer’s wife and worked alongside her husband raising livestock and helping harvest the crops. She was a home- maker, a great gardener, an excellent seamstress and enjoyed rug hooking, cross stitching and nee- dlepoint. Darline was an avid bowler and was on several different leagues. She enjoyed going to foot- ball and basketball games when her children were in school sports. Darline worked part time for H&R Block during the tax season. Glenn and Darline were also manag- ers of the Eldora Ameri- can Legion for four years. Glenn passed away on July 3, 1996. Darline managed the American Legion for one more year before re- tiring. Darline is survived by her children, Donna Stein- feldt of Eldora and Terry (MaryEllen) Taylor of Iowa Falls; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchil- dren; brother-in-law, Da- vid Taylor; sisters-in-law, Janice Kramer and Mick Kramer.
