processed, analysed and interpreted

expected to rise to $7.1 trillion.
– By the year 2050, technology experts predict that there will be
50 billion devices that are connected to the Internet (Cisco) –
considered too conservative (other predict 100 billion)
• M2M (Machine 2 Machine) communication paradigm advances to
IoT and cloud/fog computing

• Gateways– extremely easy to install (adaptive control);– fully remotely controlled (autonomous);– very long life time (self healing) = very low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership);– solar powered (green energy);– media independent radio communication (GSM, GPRS, 3G, UHF);
• Telemetry servers– based on a client/server architecture– collects data from one or several Telemetry Gateways (receivers)– makes it available for viewing or for specialized analysis (fully web-based)

no coverage by using a UHF bridge operating in fixed range of

– Bio-based opportunities / challenges in all major domains• Accelerated Development up to 2050
– Robots could be taking over our lives and jobs: by 2040, cabs will be driven by Google robots, shops will become showrooms for online outlets and call centres will be staffed by intelligent droids
• Singularity around 2050– our intelligence will become increasingly nonbiological
and trillions of times more powerful than it is today—the dawning of a new civilization that will enable us to transcend our biological limitations and amplify our creativity
• Hyper-Acceleration Beyond H2050• competition for work caused by a rise in the robots
population will see us heading to surgeons for ‘additional processing power for our brains’
• requesting bionic implants for our hands that will make us able to perform tasks as fast as any machine
