Audit Committee

• Motion: Because the 2014 Audit Committee could not find supporting documentation to confirm that an external audit was conducted per the 2011 Audit Committee recommendation, the 2014 Audit Committee moves that an outside audit of the National Treasurers’ records for the 2005-2008, 2008-2011, and 2011-2014 Triennia be conducted after the 2013-2014 books are closed.

• Passed: Unanimously

• Motion: We move that National Council develop a Vision Statement for long range goals.

• Motion: We move that the webmaster make an Iota Sigma Pi downloadable web content for 2017 National Convention so that members can access instant convention content to be made available on all platforms.

• Motion: We move that the webmaster produce YouTube or similar video film clips of the “Faces of Iota Sigma Pi” highlighting excellent women in the organization.

Long Range Planning Committee

• Motion: We move that the President begin the process of changing the Constitution and Bylaws to change the term limits for the Webmaster. In the Constitution and Bylaws, Article VI, Section 6, Limits of Terms of Office that reads “can be reelected to an unlimited number of terms” be deleted.

• Passed: Yes = 21, No = 4, Abstain = 2

Rituals and Ceremony Committee

• Motion: The Rituals and Ceremony Committee moves that the new Fe Chapter be added to the table, Chapters of Iota Sigma Pi, on the inside front cover of the Rituals of Iota Sigma Pi booklet.

• Passed: Unanimously

• Motion: We move to continue with the Triennial Award for Outstanding Chapter funded in the amount of $250.

• Passed: Unanimously

• Motion: We move to continue to support the relocation, installation, or reactivation of chapters of Iota Sigma Pi with a $250 seed grant.

Chapter Program Development Committee

• Motion: The committee moves to continue the mini-grant program to provide up to $250 to a maximum of 10 chapters per triennium with only one grant awarded per chapter per triennium. The mini-grant can be used to support special projects, programs, or events of the chapter (excluding routine chapter events).

• Passed: Unanimously

Awards Committee• Motion: The Committee on Awards and Scholarships moves that a new

undergraduate award for excellence in chemistry be established for the purpose of recognizing excellence by a first-generation college student. This award will have the same description and criteria as the current Undergraduate Award for Excellence in Chemistry with the additional stipulation that the eligible students for consideration are first generation college students. The award criteria will require that the application dossier includes a statement from the student’s nominator or advisor that affirms that the student meets the definition of a first generation college student as established by the student’s school of enrollment. If an institution (college or university) does not have an official definition of a first-generation college student, then the nominator or advisor will use a definition that he or she will describe in his/her letter.

Awards Committee• Motion: The Committee on Awards and Scholarships moves that

compliant changes to the official Society documents be made as needed to establish a new undergraduate award for a first-generation college student. These will include:

• in the ByLaws, Article X, section 1, adding the new award to the list of awards;

• in the Rules and Regulations, part G, adding a new article to follow article VII Undergraduate Award for Excellence in Chemistry, as a new article VIII for the new award and renumbering the Gladys Anderson Emerson Award to article IX; and

• in the Rules and Regulations, part D, Article XI, section 2b, adding the new award to the list of awards.

Budget and Finance Committee

• Motion: The committee moves that annual dues for Regular Members be raised by $10 from the current $55 to $65. The new breakdown of dues will be $21 for operating expenses, $29 for the Triennial National Convention, and $15 for chapter rebates.

• Failed: Yes = 12, No = 10, Abstain = 5
