Priorities of Ministry of PetroleumIran’s Ministry of Petroleum is focused on immediate development of ‘shared’ brown oil

and gas fields mostly concentrated along Iran/Iraq boarder and offshore gas reserves

shared with Qatar and Persian Gulf States. These include the following areas:

• Oilfields to the West of Karun River

• Other onshore fields

• South Pars gas fields

• Other offshore shared fields

Based on the above, IOID’s short and medium term plans are to focus on the oil and gas

fields in the West Karun and South Pars areas and provision of services to the IOC’s and

their contractors involved with these projects.
