Project goals

• Provide a high quality LIVE result service IOF major

events (WOC, WCup, JWOC).

• GPS-tracking

• Web-TV

• Preliminary results from course and finish

• Reduce demands on IOF event organisers and

provide a standardized service.

• One entry point for all results, tracking, streaming

from IOF events.

• Project income shall cover at least the costs related

to the service.

Preconditions

• There are end users willing to pay for live tracking and web-TV

from IOF major events (WOC, WCup, JWOC). The estimated

size of the market is 3000-4000 users.

• There is at least one company who have the ability and know-

how to provide a service.

• Live information and results are IOF assets

• We understand that the project contains a significant cost and

we have to share the income with service provider.

How IOF LiveCenter is working for end

users?• LiveCenter includes 3 main sections:

– GPS-tracking

– Web-TV

– Online results

• Online results are always free of charge, no need for login

• GPS-tracking and web-TV are free of change after x hours from the event

• ONLY for LIVE GPS-tracking and LIVE web-tv the subscription or access

pass is needed. Payment service together with webshop is part of the

LiveCenter

Project history and next steps

• Oct 2013: Pilot Project started with Traxmeet OY

• Dec 2013- Mar 2014: testing during SkiO events in FIN,NOR,SWE, RUS

• March 2014: Pilot Project final report presented to the Council

• April-October 2014: Testing of the service. Adding on new components

and services.

• Testing of LIVE GPS-tracking service during WOC 2014!– Technical tests

– Testing of size of potential market

• Negotiate, make a contracts, agree on technical details with 2015 and

2016 IOF event organisers.

Hardware for GPS-tracking

• Traxmeet OY equipment named GTS200

• Transmission via GSM network of

– GPS-coordinates (adjustable, from x sec to y sec)

– Split times from the control

• GPS device is recording the punching information

between control card and control unit

• Chip is currently supporting only Emitag

– Options:

• other sensor information like heart rate belt (example

FIS, Ski Classics)

• double battery
