from doing the internship abroad. Communication is a vital part of the modern professional world, so undertaking an internship abroad will help them become more flexible, open minded and willing to listen to new ideas. Furthermore they will gain more knowledge and skills they need for their job and a good chance to get a job offer in a foreign country. Do you think that after this experience the students are more aware of their future choices?- A month of work experience is not enough to acquire a high level of professional competence but it can be a starting-point to help them understand how important it is to share ideas and points of view with other

people. The world of work has changed and is constantly evolving towards its increasingly internationalization. What do you think of the internship in general, especially as regards the need to combine practical experience with the theoretical one? - The internship has the dual role of providing the means for students to put into practice what they have learnt in theory. In addition the work experience can help students acquire the necessary skills that are required

… interviewing the Prof!

How do you consider the experience in Malta and what is the most surprising thing about this trip?-I thoroughly enjoyed my experience in Malta with students as soon I realized that they would gain a lot from the internship in this country. Practical experience is the best and the internships give them that hands-on experience they need. I feel that quality internship is essential to develop key-skills that students cannot get in a classroom.

Did you get to know the students you accompanied in more detail? Do you believe that the relationship with them has somehow improved?-The Maltese experience was rich and positive for me either as I had the opportunity to observe the students in different environmental contexts. They usually look much more mature and responsible when they are actively involved in something they really love doing. How important is it for the orientation of young people, the need for work experience abroad?- Personally, I think the internship is a valuable experience in that the students have the opportunity to learn how to work with different people and in different situations. More than that they can get a lot of benefits

nowadays in order to compete in struggling economic situations. It is clear that the linguistic competence is in the modern labor market an essential condition for a correct placement of our students, what are the initiatives or impulses that the school today can or should give to its teaching? - Schools have a fundamental role in preparing students for their future job. Schools should give students the necessary tools to allow them to be well work-oriented and able to make relevant work choices in tune with the skills acquired.
