Citation preview
Given the growing importance of Information and Communication Technolo-
gies (ICT) in the context of the Global Economy and the enormous potential
of this sector , there is a need for a common framework that enables ICT
Professionals to describe and develop their capabilities and which allows
companies and employers to identify which individuals who possess the
competences they require.
The European e-Competence Framework (e-CF) is a reference framework of
competences applied within the Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) Sector. This Framework can used and understood by ICT User and Sup-
ply Companies, ICT Practitioners, Managers and Human Resources (HR) De-
partments, the Public Sector, Educational and Social partners across Europe.
In order to achieve a consensus and useful results at National Level, the in-
volvement of ICT Sector Players and Stakeholders from
Business, Policy Making and Education is crucial and
necessary.
