Primary Athletics Carnival 2015
The Athletics Carnival held yesterday was a huge success. Thank you to all of the parent helpers who
assisted on the day both on the field and in the canteen as well as those cheering on the sideline.
Well done to everyone who participated and showed great sportsmanship. The champions will be
announced at tomorrows Education Week Assembly along with the winning house.
Netball Congratulations to the Open Girls’ Netball Team who competed in Tamworth on Monday at the
Netball NSW Cup. The girls finished the day in third place and more importantly were highly
commended by the days convenors for their outstanding sportsmanship and behaviour.
Also well done to Indiana Timu who competed at the State Netball Carnival in Tamworth last week.

Students have been issued with a Personal Reading Log on which they should be recording books that they have read from the Premiers Reading Challenge book list. To successfully complete the challenge, students must read a specific number of texts (30 books for K-2 and 20 books for 3-6) from the PRC Booklist and complete their Student Reading Records by 21st August 2015. Students in Years K-2 at Inverell Public School are to complete their personal Reading Record logs and return them to the school for data entry by 7th August, 2015. Your child’s
Student Reading Record will be entered in electronically by the PRC coordinator and volunteers after this date. At the end of Semester Two your child will be presented with a certificate at a whole school assembly.

Spotlight on 5/6O 5/6O have been meeting once a
week in a peer support program.
5/6O love the opportunity to
spend time with the younger
kids. A highlight of the program
was watching the grade six
students organise and run a
game of duck, duck, goose.
Michael from KP was so fast he
almost caught one of the fastest
runners in the school! 5/6O
have loved reading stories to the
KP class and it has been great to
see these new friendships
continuing at play time.
Thanks KP for letting us be
involved in your learning.
A huge thank you to Jill Jonson-Wilson from Black Swan Dreaming for
the fabulous prizes donated for the NAIDOC week raffle.
Congratulations to the winners.
