Networx NX series panels are hardwired sys-tem with optional wireless support that can be added at any time. The systems are ideal for residential and light commercial applications requiring only hardwired sensors, but offer RF support and access control expansion when re-quired. Networx-compatible wireless sensors are listed in section 3 (Learn Mode Wireless Sensors).

Networx features include : • Wireless expansion through boards that install in the control enclosure, external receiver in a

separate enclosure, or LCD keypad with built-in wireless receiver. On-board hardwired zones can be disabled to provide a completely wireless system.

• Optional proximity reader module that provides proximity tag arming / disarming and local access control : support different commands for single scan, double scan and hold of proximity token.

• 4 onboard transistor outputs can be programmed to activate for any of over 50 system events. • Built-in numeric paging can be programmed to transmit high / low level alarm events as well as

open / close or latchkey codes.

The Chubb AFx control panel is the heart of Chubb’s scalable and expandable integrated Intrusion / Access platform.

Each AFx panel can function as a standalone intrusion system : should a site’s requirements change, application modules are added to expand the system’s capacities to add security devices, access control, elevator access control and full system management software capability where required.

Even installations that use the AFx solely for the purpose of intrusion detection will benefit from the sophistication of its powerful microprocessor-based structure, which incorpo-rates features generally associated with high-end commercial systems.

Controllers & Reader Modules LNL-500 Intelligent System Controller

The LNL-500 Intelligent System Controller (ISC) serves as the access control engine for an OnGuard system. Multiple combinations of input Control Modules, output control modules, and card reader interface modules can be connected. The ISC can communi-cate upstream at 38.4 Kbps via RS-232/RS-485 multidropped configuration, modem dial-up communication, or Ethernet TCP/IP networks. The ISC can store up to 12,500 cardholders. Supports up to 32 readers or 16 devices. 100-8969..……..…….........................................LNL-500 Intelligent System Controller

LNL-1320 Dual Reader Interface Module

Dual reader interface supports most access control card readers, keypads, or readers with keypads that use standard Wiegand Data1/Data0 or Clock/Data communication, as well as those that support the bidirectional RS-485 Open Supervised Device Proto-col (OSDP). Lock, unlock, and facility code offline access modes are supported on all readers connected to the DRI. 100-8966..………….......................................LNL-1320 Dual Reader Interface Module 100-8967..………….....................................Set of 16 1K-ohm Resistors for LNL-1320

LNL-2220 Intelligent Dual Reader Controller

The LNL-2220 Intelligent Dual Reader Controller (IDRC) provides a single board solu-tion for interfacing one or two doors to an OnGuard system. In addition, other I/O and reader interface modules can be added on the LNL-2220’s downstream port to expand its capabilities. The LNL-2220 is scalable for any access control application, from the most basic to the most sophisticated. In the event of communication loss, the LNL-2220 allows nearly all local functionality to continue unimpaired until the server connec-tion is restored. 100-8968..…..………...............................LNL-2220 Intelligent Dual Reader Controller

Input / Output Modules LNL-1100 Input Control Module

The Input Control Module (ICM) provides Lenel access control systems with high-speed acknowledgment of critical alarm points in monitored areas. The ICM communi-cates directly with the Intelligent System Controller (ISC) either by 2-wire or 4-wire RS-485 communication. The ICM has 16 configurable input control points and 2 output control relays. It supports normally open, normally closed, supervised and non-supervised circuits. 100-8963..….……….....................................................LNL-1100 Input Control Module 100-8967..…..………...................................Set of 16 1K-ohm Resistors for LNL-1100

The Output Control Module (OCM) communicates directly with the Intelligent System Controller (ISC) by either 2-wire or 4-wire RS-485 communication. Each OCM is an individually-addressed device, and counts as a single device on all Intelligent System Controllers. The OCM has 16 programmable output relays that can be configured for fail-safe or fail-secure operation. 100-8964…………...…………...................................LNL-1200 Output Control Module

Access tokens contain encoded numeric values : presenting an access token to a compatible reading device results in these values being sent to a controller. Each unique numeric card value is associated with an individual system user in the controller’s database. The controller ’decides’ - based on the user’s authority settings in the access control system– whether or not the user should be granted access to that door at that time. Access tokens may be cards or keyfobs : cards may be customized by adding user images, graphics and information fields (i.e. department, employee number) for increased security.

Detection devices act as the senses of a security system : each is designed to detect spe-cific indications that a potentially dangerous situation is occurring. • Door / window contacts use magnet / switch combinations to monitor the open or

closed state of a premises’ potential points of entry. • Motion detectors sense relative temperature differences and / or the actual motion of

targets in a designated field of view. • Glass break detectors are tuned to activate when they sense the transmitted shock of

a breakage attempt or the frequencies of breaking glass. • Smoke and heat sensors provide early notification of a fire on the premises. • Water and temperature sensors can provide an early warning of potentially costly envi-

ronmental conditions such as furnace failures or floods. The sensors are fully supervised by the control panel and capable of providing local or off-site notification if tampered with.

The use of audible annunciation devices can deter further intruder activity on premises equipped with security systems : the sound of a siren is an unmistakable indication that the violation has been detected, and localizes the event for responding authorities or on-site security response personnel. They’re also useful where life safety devices are in-stalled, providing widespread, immediate indication of a potentially threatening condition. Available products range from simple sirens to multi-channel drivers with fully programma-ble messages that allow sites to customize the messages that will play back for individual conditions. Visual annunciation is invaluable in localizing system events for responding security or life safety personnel : in areas where the duration of a siren may be limited by noise laws, vis-ual annunciators can be programmed to illuminate until the system—and site—have been returned to normal status.

Although the alarm panels featured in this catalog all include digital communicators that provide offsite notification of system events, the medium these circuits use—the public telephone lines—are susceptible to malicious disconnection or interruption due to service issues. Alternate communications paths use digital cellular service or Internet Protocol connectivity to ensure continuity of alarm monitoring, either in a backup or primary role.

Chubb AFx systems that control access—as well as those that additionally integrate intru-sion - use electro-mechanical door locking and release mechanisms to provide area ac-cess to designated system users while preventing entry by users not allowed in the area, or members of the public. Each user’s access token has a unique numeric value that is associated with that user, and their associated access privileges. The Chubb AFx system controls the release and re-locking process based on these privileges. Where readers are used for IN access only, internal release (request to exit or REX) but-tons allow users to exit the premise without causing door forced alarms.
