Cheryn Metzger, Senior Engineer, National Renewable Energy Laboratory
Cheryn Metzger joined NREL in 2009. In addition to being one of the Research Coordinators for the Building America Program, she is also involved in research surrounding the residential construction benchmark development. Prior to joining NREL, Cheryn led research initiatives involving bio‐medical fluid dynamics which helps in developing a treatment for blood clots and many forms of cancer. Cheryn is a Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), and LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP).

Scott Yee, Program Associate, Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance
Scott Yee is a Program Associate for the HVAC SAVE and GTI PARR programs. In this role, Scott provides general oversight, program coordination, and supports the development of the HVAC SAVE program. Prior to joining MEEA, Scott worked as a Research Assistant and conducted research in the areas of cellulosic biofuel energy production and non‐renewable agricultural resource use efficiency. Scott has a BA in Environmental Science from Colorado College and an MS from The University of Minnesota in Natural Resources Science and Management.

Christine Liaukus, Senior Research Architect, NJIT’s Center for Building Knowledge
Christine Liaukus, RA, CPHC® has been working in the world of environmentally conscientious design and consulting for over twenty years. As a Senior Research Architect at NJIT’s Center for Building Knowledge, she leads the Housing and Community Development team. Her efforts include the creation of the Affordable Green Academy, an online resource with courses and case studies on the nuts and bolts of building affordable green housing, (www.affordablegreenacademy.org). Ms. Liaukus has ongoing studies on the reduction of energy use in public and market rate housing as part of the Building America BARA team. She is also a trainer for HUD’s Green Academy and provides technical support to the New Jersey Climate Choice Homes Program funded by the New Jersey Clean Energy Program. Ms. Liaukus is a Registered Architect in New York and was the first Certified Passive House Consultant in New Jersey.

Janet McIlvaine, Senior Research Analyst, Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC)
Janet McIlvaine, senior research analyst in the Buildings Research Division at the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) has over 20 years of experience with conducting research and deploying findings in high performance new homes. Since 2009, her work has focused on existing homes in the hot‐humid climate. She led the development and pilot implementation of best practices gleaned from field studies of over 100 affordable housing renovations. She and her colleagues subsequently launched the Retrofit Challenge, an initiative that encourages stake holders to adopt the best practices as master specifications.
