When using a computer, ALWAYS

• Save the document you are working on often

• Make sure that cables are out of the walking areas

• Turn off the computer and remove power cable before opening the case

• Connect the connect the power cables to a surge protector

• Plug power cables into the wall before plugging them into the computer

• Keep your computer dust free by using a can of compressed air to remove dust

• Make sure that when cleaning the computer, you use special computer cleanser

• Be careful when opening an e-mail attachment, even from someone that you know

• Be careful when clicking on website links or downloading files from the internet

• Install one program at a time

• Use the safely remove hardware button to remove drives

When using a computer, NEVER• Bang on the keyboard

• Remove flash drives when the drive light is on

• Use the computer during a storm

• Open e-mail attachments from someone that you do not know

• Eat or drink anything while near the computer

• Have an open container of liquids near the computer

• Hold an electronic device by a cable
