General Challenges in Skill Building
• Children Should get equal rights, Equal Participation and Equal Opportunities
• Benefits, subsidies, reservations, allocations, relaxations in Education & Employment
• Training regarding contemporary Job work, Identification, Training, Employment and Self-Employment
• Proper well designed Infrastructure – Residential Hostels for Poor and BPL Special MR children
• Job allocation for MR or mild MR persons in 3% reservations as given by Govt Reservations
• Medical Aid in terms of subsidized medicines, Free supply of medicines for different problems of MR as these medicines are costly
• Imparting proper contemporary special education therapies needed, Vocational Trainings, Job trainings and allocations
Expectations
• Skill building in special children is a challenging task but it can be achieved with constant effort, training
by qualified vocational instructors through Job Simplification and Analysis. It is possible with proper
technology trainings associated with market needs on contemporary trades & Job works.
• Proper Training Methodology - By splitting the Job into simpler Tasks, giving sufficient leisures/breaks
one can attain maximum work done and required results can be obtained with best quality output.
• Infrastructure for Training & Skill Development – With meagre grants from Govt. of India (under
ministry of SJE), we are able to fulfill our basic needs to certain extent but for skill development we need
good infrastructure.
• Good Infrastructure includes – Transportation facility to pickup and drop the students from Home,
Qualified Therapist to understand the differently abled children and suggest appropriate skill area. For
Skill Development, we need contemporary training material, items and equipment for training purpose;
Machinery and raw material for production, Marketing Facilities for the Product Sales
Our Challenges & Expectations
• Infrastructure – Specially abled children needs special infrastructure, some of them cannot sit on
ground. We are facing a challenge of well equipped school building and classrooms in terms of seating
arrangements (Benches, etc), Ventilation and other infrastructure.
• Availability of Teaching Aids & Appliances – Due to the lack of funds, we are unable to procure model
teaching aids and appliances specially designed for Specially abled children.
• Student Teacher Ratio - Due to the lack of funds, we are unable to maintain the optimum student-
teacher ratio as well as student-Ayah ratio.
• Availability of Qualified Therapist – Different Therapies like Physio, Occupational and Speech Therapies
need qualified Therapist as a Doctor for medical aid and emergencies.
• Transportation – Most of the students need to come from 15-20 KM to Sangareddy to attend Sabitha
School and they can neither use public transportation nor they can afford private transportation. A
Transport vehicle is required to pickup and drop the student from home to reduce the drop-outs.
