Since 1994, J&D has been pursuing continuous innovation for

JAGUAR IoT Team is a consulting team that was created to provide an optimal Demand power by analyzing
power usage characteristics for each site and thus provide a true direction for reducing electricity charges.
The first step to reducing electricity charge is measuring power quality.
The advantage of the JAGUAR IoT Team is accessibility.
For the convenience of users, JAGUAR IoT provides a free UI with built-in web servers, making it an excellent
choice for free diagnosis and consulting of facilities.
It is suitable for smart factory since it can save management cost of cloud server by built-in Web server; for
AC power and DC power monitoring and the optimal branch circuit monitoring for ESS (Energy storage
system) such as Solar home and Electric vehicle chargers.
JAGUAR IoT Team measures the harmonics and leakage currents for high and low voltage user's transformer and
analyses the real-time power energy consumption. It offers the reasonable solution by suggesting accurate standard
to establish the appropriate countermeasures for diagnosis or future.

03The need for power quality measurement
The power quality is determined based on factors such as " momentary voltage drop ", " harmonic " and " disturbance " depending on the variable nature of the voltage. The most important factor is "harmonics".

Harmonics are frequencies that have an integer number of the fundamental frequencies, which are known as harmonics in the order of 50 or less, and above which are classified as high frequencies. When these harmonics occur, the power system's waveforms are distorted, causing serious adverse effects on the electric equipment and the track.

Harmonics are mainly caused by nonlinear loads (e.g. electronic fluorescent lights, LED lights, inverter, uninterruptible power supply), which can distort the voltage of the power system and cause excessive temperature in the power condenser, generator, and lighting facilities, etc.

03The need for power quality measurement
In Worldwide, Power quality measurement standards are already
established in 2008 with IEC 61000-4-30 standards, and Korea
has established and implemented distribution system harmonics
management standards since 2009.

These regulations apply with the Korea Electric Power
Corporation when setting up demand power with the power
user, and they are an important consideration for high voltage
users, especially those that use large power such as Automated
production factory. Power quality management should naturally
include power energy management, as measurement of power
quality is related to each load, such as measuring power supply
and power usage.

For this solution, J&D has developed its own power quality
meter, JAGUAR 6300S, which meets the IEC 61000-4-30 and
offers PQ-CT and PQ-VT (high quality sensors, multiple AC/DC
current sensor, voltage sensor) which is suitable for use with
JAGUAR 6300s.
Especially, with the revision of the Electrical Business Act in July
2015, the Power Quality Analyzer has been added as a
necessary common equipment for the safety managers. For this
response, JAGUAR IoT TEAM recommends a high-performance
power quality analyzer to enable more accurate and efficient
electrical safety management

04The need for DC power measurement

1 3Most power networks in Korea as
well as globally are made up of
AC (alternating current)
distribution, so there was less
demand for DC (direct current)
distribution. Recently, however,
DC distribution has been
receiving a lot of attention
because it is easy to link with
distributed power system and it
is possible to make long distance
transmission with low loss.
In particular, demand for DC
distribution such as
renewable power generation,
electric car charger, and ESS
(energy storage systems) is
increasing, and according to
the EPRI report, the demand
for DC distribution is
expected to expand up to
50% by 2020.
There is a need for a watt-hour
meter to measure DC power, but
there are few technical standards
and testing facilities around the
world. However, J & D developed
the JAGUAR 1000D, a DC watt hour
meter, in preparation for the
completion of the IEC standard
currently being enacted. Once the
IEC standard is successfully finalized,
J & D Electronics would become a
leading technology company in this
field will.

manager as mandatory duty of Electric utility law.
However, the eGauge meter, which is a multi-channel energy meter of JAGUAR IoT
Team, was installed and analyzed the power data for one year. As a result, it was
confirmed that the maximum power consumption of this customer did not exceed
55kW.
Taking into consideration the margin, we selected the demand power again with the
capacity of 65kW, It allowed to reduce the entire energy management costs by saving
the basic electrical charges and discharging the duty of safety manager.
