Medical Alert Center• MAC is the 24/7 operations & communication branch of the

LAC-DHS Department Operations Center• MAC Responsibilities during incident:

o Gather information from the field, clinics and hospitals to assess system capacity and track incidents during an disaster

o Support/coordinate medical and health resource request throughout the County and Region I

Assessing the System• We use the ReddiNet as a primary

communications tool to assess various medical and health resources status of the system

• Can be used assess staffing, supplies, equipment, pharmacology and damage of a specific facility or the entire system

• The Operational Status Poll is the starting point for the MAC to quickly assess the overall status of the system

• Respond to Assessment Poll within 60 min.

Assessment Polls are either developed ahead of time (Operational Status Poll) and saved for future use or created on the fly as needed.

This is how Assessment Polls appear on your ReddiNet terminal. You will receive an alert when they arrive and the MAC will also notify you that you need to respond the Poll. You have 60 minutes from receipt of the poll to answer.

1) To respond to the poll, hi-lite the date on the left side of the page as shown here, and click “Update Answers”

2) Move mouse over “Update Answers” and click here

How we use the data

• The Data from the responses to the Assessment Poll is aggregated at the DHS Department Operations Center. It is then displayed in an easy to reference graph.

• As the Assessment Polls are updated, so is the data represented here in the DHS Situation Status Screen.

• The information collected allows the DHS DOC to make informed decisions as to allocation or resources and prioritization of efforts.
