Grades are divided into the followingcategories and are weighted
accordingly:
Novel Assessments, selected reading responses, and end of quarter reflections: 55%
Novel Assessments These are assessments to be completed based on the students’ self-selected novels.
Selected Reading Response These are assessments based on a reading selection completed in class.
End of Quarter ResponseReflections/Responses based on what the student learned during the quarter.
•Homework: 10% Students are expected to read 20 min. daily and complete an Independent Reading assignment every week.

Page Goal
Students are required to read a certain number of books each quarter as follows:
1st quarter – 550 pages *** 55 pts. 2nd quarter – 600 pages *** 60 pts.
3rd quarter – 650 pages *** 65 pts.4th quarter – 700 pages *** 70 pts.
