GRAPHIC DESIGNCHOSEN PATHWAY OF INTEREST
• A profession that I have been very inspired by for many years that I could deffinately see myself enjoying and feeling rewarded by
• The exploration of aesthetically pleasing layouts and use of colour and texture captivate me to follow my own design aspirations
GRAPHIC DESIGN
• The fact that I would be able to participate in a job that i’m genuinely passionate about would make me feel fulfilled with myself
• I love the use of a variety of medians (photography/painting/etc), then bringing them together in a professional yet charming appeal
WHY?
C&D CHOSEN QUOTEWHAT QUOTE SHOULD I VISUALLY INTERPRET?
• Place and Time Quote
• Maori Proverb : “Ka mura, ka muri – We walk into the future backwards.”
• Traditional way the Maori people viewed the future learning from their past family members experiences to move forward in life
• I believe that this quote stood out to me more than the others because of my interests towards family tradition and understanding your elders knowledge.

• Traditional Japanese Zen Gardens
• I found this image the most compelling because I felt it would be the most practical image to use as an inspiration towards my ideas.
• Purpose: To quiet and focus your body and mind
STARTING IDEASWHAT ARE MY POSSIBILITIES?
• Starting experiments using paper as the median
• Used this mind map to spark some beginning ideas
• Identifying my opportunities and restraints of using paper to visually communicate my concepts

• Wanted to incorporate range of skills and medians
• Mixed uses of simple model making, freehand drawing, photography and Adobe Softwares (Illustrator / Photoshop) whilst generating my concepts
• Used pinterest as my main source of inspiration as the website is loaded with contemporary designs and ideas that are very beneficial
• Started to visualize some potential designs as well as gaining some inspiration before attempting my first
INSPIRATIONGAINING A BROADER RANGE OF KNOWLEDGE ON THE COMPONENTS IM BASING MY DESIGNS ON
• Using Pinterest, I wanted to embolden my knowledge on examples of Traditional Zen Gardens as well as observing some modern sculptures.
• Zen Gardens generally showcase a variety of features establishing peace and unity in forms of streams, sand and traditional sculptures and walkways.
• My research on modern sculptures conveyed that a majority of them are made with smooth and simplistic features.

NSPIRATION
• Further using Pinterest as my key resource I wanted to incorporate an architectural twist to my ideas as I felt it could link with my cho-sen quote “We walk into the future backwards”, linking the two together to then form a set of concepts.
• • I also created a page of some contrasting textures for ad-ditional inspiration to take in to my beginning ideas.
