PAWS.gru.edu(Portal And Web Services)
• PAWS replaces the HI Intranet (hi.gru.edu) and eventually the MyMCG portal in early 2014.
• Serves as the primary source for internal communications through an enterprise-wide portal
• Connect and engage all employees including faculty, physicians, staff, and students.
• Increase usability and navigational functionality
• Increase relevance of content and applications
PAWS History
In 2010, decided to invest in the
redeployment of an employee intranet
Multiple focus groups and
employee surveys were conducted to
evaluate needs
Task Force was established
Microsoft SharePoint was
selected as platform
In April of 2013, the enterprise
unveiled PAWS.
Benefits of PAWS• Streamlined authoring process• Faster turnaround time for new pages and changes• Greater consistency• Improved site navigation• Increased site flexibility• Support for decentralized authoring• Increased security• Reduced duplication of information• Greater capacity for growth• There are guidelines regarding what content can be placed on the PAWS
home page• Please check with your department leadership about the status of

PAWS Training• Nearly everyone using the new intranet will need
some type of training on how to navigate the editing process.

How to make PAWS your homepage
• Open PAWS in your web browser. (paws.gru.edu)• If you are using IE, select Tools from the top menu and Internet
Options from the drop down. • Select “Use Current” in the first option “Home page”.
• If you are using FireFox, open PAWS in the web browser. • Select the Tools drop down and then select Options, and then select
Options again. • Select the “General” tab. Select “Use Current Page” and the PAWS site will
come up every time you open FireFox.
