AbstractBackground: Stroke is the third leading cause of death
and is a major cause ofdisability in our country. Up to 8! of all
strokes are of ischemic origin. It is aclinical emergency re"uiring
urgent medical intervention. #ecombinant tissue
plasminogen activator $rt%&'( is the best treatment of acute
ischemic stroke $'IS()hen given )ithin three hours of symptom
onset. *he main aim of this study )asto revie) our thrombolithic
treatment experience.
+ethods: In our study, data of the - patients )ho )ere treated
)ith intravenousthrombolytic therapy in the Intensive /are Unit of
the 0eurology 1epartment of2i3li 4tfal #esearch and 4ducation
5ospital bet)een the years 67 and 6-6)ere evaluated prospectively
)ithin the context of database of Stroke Studyroup of *urkish
