Thầy Hằng Trường và Hội Từ Bi Phụng Sự kính mời quý bác và quý anh chị tham dự sinh hoạt
Đêm Giao Thừa tại Trung Tâm Taichi ITC 12111 đường Brookhurst St., unit A, Garden Grove,
CA 92840, từ 8giờ tối ngày 2 tháng 2 đến 1 giờ sáng, tức tối giao thừa năm Tân Mão.
Bắt đầu lúc 8 giờ tối Thầy sẽ cho chúng ta pháp thoại cuối năm với chủ đề “Thay đổi ngôn ngữ bi
quan thành ra lạc quan hăng hái”. Từ 9 giờ tối tất cả sẽ cùng mặc áo tràng, an tọa trong đàn tràng
MANDALA, cùng trì chú Như Ý Bảo Luân, thành tâm cầu nguyện cho năm mới kiết tường, hồi
hướng cho thân nhân và bá tánh vạn sự may mắn. Sau đó theo truyền thống hàng năm Thầy sẽ mời
đại chúng dùng phổ trà đêm trừ tịch, cùng đón giao thừa, và chào mừng Năm Mới An Khang.
Chúc Tết Ngày Mồng 1 (Orange County):
Chúng ta sẽ đến Chúc Tết Thầy tại ITC, cùng mừng tuổi nhau, nhận lì xì và lộc tết, và cùng Thầy tham dự Bữa Cơm Trưa chay
potluck.

Bước vào thềm năm mới, hội Từ Bi Phụng Sự trân trọng kính mời quý đồng hương đến
tham dự lễ hội mừng Xuân Như Ý Quán Âm được tổ chức vào ngày thứ bảy 19 và chủ
nhật 20 tháng 2 năm 2011, vào lúc 8 giờ sáng đến 6 giờ chiều, tại địa điểm

Đầu năm, chúng ta đều mong muốn rũ bỏ những điều không may mắn, không tốt đẹp của
năm cũ và đón nhận những điều hay, đẹp trong năm mới. Những ước nguyện này có thể
thành tựu được khi ta sám hối trước vị Bồ Tát đại từ, đại bi Quán Thế Âm vào ngày thứ
bảy. Mỗi lạy phủ phục xuống đưa ta trở về với chân tánh nguyên thủy, trút bỏ hết những
ác nghiệp, những tập khí xấu. Mỗi lượt đứng lên thể hiện sự làm mới, thay đổi cuộc đời
của mình để trở thành một người mới trong năm mới. Chúng ta sẽ có cơ hội học hỏi
những hạnh nguyện của Quán Thế Âm Bồ Tát, để tự phản ảnh và nhìn lại chính mình,
hầu khai mở nội tâm, phát triển tự tánh chân thiện mỹ. Từ đó ta có thể trở thành từ
trường hấp dẫn được những cái thiện, cái đẹp từ bên ngoài và từ những người chung
quanh.

Đấy chính là Như Ý.
Như Ý cũng là đề tài tu luyện trong ngày chủ nhật, một cơ hội để quý đồng hương
học cách thức tu tập để khai mở ánh sáng tự tâm. Đặc biệt cũng vào ngày chủ nhật,
lần đầu tiên tại Houston, chúng tôi sẽ tổ chức Lễ Kết Thiện Duyên. Trong buổi lễ
đầy ý nghĩa này, nhóm tuổi trẻ sẽ nối thiện duyên với các bậc phụ huynh, trưởng
thượng, tạo cơ hội cho các thế hệ khác nhau đồng khai mở tâm dung hòa, thương yêu
qua những lời nguyện mở rộng tấm lòng Thương, Tha Thứ, Thôi, Tùy, Thoáng trong
suốt năm.

Dear dharma friends,
To welcome the year of the tiger, we cordially invite you to attend the As-You-Wish Kwan Shr Yin Pu Sa New Year Celebration
on Saturday, February 19 and Sunday, February 20, 2011, from 8 am to 6pm at
THE PREET PAVILLION, 11050 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77074
As we enter another year, we all wish to relinquish all the bad luck and unfortunate incidents in the past year and welcome a lucky
and desire-fulfilled year. These wishes may come true when we bow in front of Kwan Shr Yin Pu Sa on Saturday. As we bow down,
we return to our pure beginning. We let go of the negative past karma and our unwholesome habitual energy. As we stand up, we
renew and transform our lives, to become a new person in the new year. We will have an opportunity to learn and bring to practice
Kwan Shr Yin’s ten commitments, to reflect on ourselves and open our heart and mind to the truth, the goodness, and the beauty.
Fortified with these three virtues, we will become a magnet that attracts even more truth, goodness, and beauty from others around us
and from the universe. That’s the meaning of As-You-Wish. As-You-Wish is also the name of a ritual that we will practice on
Sunday to uncover our inner lights. The highlight on Sunday, however, will be the Creating our Wholesome
Affinity event whereas the young audience will “connect” with their parents, grandparents, and others so that all generations can fuse
their love, their embraces, and make a vow to Love, Forgive, Forgo, Go With the Flow, and/or Be Serene for the whole year.

Dear Masters and friends,
This spring, we the Houston group have the opportunity to organize the 2011 Annual Pilgrimage trip to China, from April 21 to May
02. We will visit Emei Shan to pay homage to the Universally Worthy Boddhisattva Samantabhadra. This will be a wonderful
time for participants to receive "Leave Home" precepts and for all to practice 3-steps-1 bow, paying respect to the Great Bodhisattva
and his practices.
In addition, we will visit the Giant Maitreya Buddha Statue, known as the largest Buddha statue in the world, at LeShan, and the
Giant Panda Reserve Sanctuary in Chengdu. As a bonus, we will be hiking and meditating in the breath taking scenery of
ZhangJiaJie National Forest (the back drop for the movie Avatar).
This event will be opened to all who are interested. However, we are only able to accommodate up to 150 persons, so First Priority
will be reserved for the "Temporary Leave Home" participants.

Thưa Thầy và các bạn,
Mùa Xuân năm nay, hội Từ Bi Phụng Sự tại Houston sẽ tổ chức chuyến Hành Hương Trung Quốc vào ngày 21 tháng 4 đến ngày 2
tháng 5, 2011. Chúng ta sẽ thăm viếng Nga Mi Sơn để học theo hạnh của ngài Bồ Tát Phổ Hiền. Các bạn sẽ có cơ hội Xuất Gia Đoản
Kỳ và tham dự Tam Bộ Nhất Bái.
Ngoài ra, chúng ta sẽ có dịp tham quang tượng Phật Di Lặc lớn nhất thế giới, khắc trên núi Leshan, cùng nhau tĩnh tọa giũa cảnh
rừng thiên nhiên vùng Trương Gia Giới, nơi dùng làm bối cảnh cho phim Avatar, và tìm hiểu thêm về khu bảo tồn của những con
gấu Panda ở vùng Chengdu.
Xin mời tất cả tham gia chuyến hành hương nầy để cùng nhau mở rộng tâm thức và thưởng ngoạn bên Thầy quý và bạn hiền. Số
chổ cho chuyến đi này có giới hạn là 150 người, ưu tiên dành cho những vị Xuất Gia Đoản Kỳ.
Xin các bạn phổ biến về chuyến hành hương nầy cho tất cả mọi người thân quen khắp nơi.

Here is the picture of the Summerset Exercise Group on the 3rd anniversary celebration Jan-2011.
We practice CK-10 on Mon, Tues from 6:30 AM-8:00 AM

Evening of 1/15/2010, we celebrate Tết-On-Air differently from our normal Tết Celebration Show.We asked 3 families to share
what they think most important value to start anew. Then we asked 6 young people how would they start their new year and what
inspire them towards their goals. All answers pointed to volunteering and charity. "Helping others bring joy”. The core values
these young people mentioned includes: fulfillment, aspiration, altruism and volunteering. Already, they are set to change the
world by simply touching people’s hearts.—Thay Hang Truong (Facebook post 1/16/11)
