Where We Run Trains
1/31/2012 4
Brunswick County is in the southeastern corner of North Carolina and is bordered on the north by Wilmington, NC, on the south by Myrtle Beach, SC, & the Atlantic Ocean on the east. Both towns have model RR Clubs with which we cooperate on various events. The Intracoastal Model RR Club is a traveling unit as compared to the fixed locations of the other clubs. As such, the IMRRC is able to participate in a number of local events wherever there is a need within ours or surrounding counties. Since there are no train hobby shops within 100 miles, The IMRRC is a major source of model RR know-how for local residents.

The IMRRC has run tinplate and scale model trains for thousands of area residents over the past seven years, and our influence grows every year.
We continue to educate the public -- and especially children -- on the joys of the hobby so as to persuade them to actively participate and play with all kinds of trains. We have bridged effectively the gap between the older clubs in both Wilmington and Myrtle Beach which allows for participation by more of the Baby Boomers retiring in Brunswick County, and to keep the hobby’s spirit alive for children & youth.
