IYPF Election - Introduction• IYPF paid members elect other members as IYPF
Directors to the Board each year at the AGM. At least 3 Directors are elected each year, for two year terms. The Board is made up of 6 Directors.
• The Directors of the IYPF are accountable to its members for ensuring that the organisation pursues its vision, mission and objectives.
• They are also accountable to external stakeholders for the legal running of the organisation as an international not-for-profit registered in Australia
• IYPF paid members vote either at the AGM, or via proxy and ballot forms

• Proxy votes and ballots printed here to be counted
• Under Australian law, at least one of the four members elected must be a resident of Australia
• Details of candidates also handed to you• Votes cast will be totaled• The 4 directors with the most votes will be
appointed

Highlights from 2004/2005Extracts from soon to be released IYPF Annual Report for 2004/2005:
Convened the IYPS 2004 in Brisbane at Griffith University, with themes of Sustainable Livelihoods and Science & Technology for Development - http://www.iyps.org
Production of IYPS 2004 CD as a tool for participants to use in their communities
IYPS 2004 brought together 70 young professionals from 18 countries
Release of Youth & The MDGs: Opportunities and Challenges for Implementation
Release of Sustainable Consumption: Young Australians as Agents of Change
Newsletter published monthly with great input from network

04/05 HighlightsBoard:- All ASIC & ATO requirements met- 3 New directors elected to two year terms in December – Alan Wu, Melanie
Ashton, Derfish Ilyas; Derfish was replaced by Sarah-Jo Dawson in July05- Revision of Director Induction Kit- Established Strategy Working Group to develop Strategic Plan for 2006-
2011- Created Communications Policy for the IYPF Board and IYPF Financial
Management Policy
Executive Group:- Monthly newsletters to members and network- Recruitment and management of staff to achieve goals and objectives- Progressing Blueprint Project towards overseas implementation- Youth & Sustainable Consumption project- Young People & the Millennium Development Goals- Support for Board of Directors - Financial management

04/05 HighlightsMemberships- Growth, through word of mouth and IYPS 2004, to approx 135 paid
members, 627 associate members and a network (inclusive of the above) of 2500
- Mostly this operational group has been inactive- Memberships Working Group considering changes and
modifications to address challenges- Number one priority is to build membership administration capacity
moving forward
Partnerships Group- Coordinated IYPS 2004 partnerships- ECOSOC membership- Relatively inactive operational group over the last 12 months, except
for IYPS

04/05 HighlightsImplementation- Review of Implementation Group strategy and activities- IYPS 2004 activities- IYPS 2004 project planning workshops and plenary presentations on IYPF
member projects- Convening project mentoring sessions at IYPS 2004 - Recruitment of new team members
Operations- Regional and topical online community subscription and participation
continued to increase- Convened IYPS 2004- Initiated review of local network activities- Development of local events services for members- Created new online communities for Education, Young Professionals and
the Millennium Development Goals, HIV & AIDS, and Downshifting
