1. Power Generation in Cambodia
A. Generation by Type of LicenseIndependent Power Producers having generation license generate and sell electricity to suppliers or industries as per Power Purchase Agreement with that supplier or industry; and Consolidated Licensees generate electricity for supply to consumers through their distribution system.

A. Generation by Type of License
The energy generated and sent out by all licensees in Cambodia during 2011 is 1,018.54 GWh, which is 5.18% more than the energy sent out during 2010. The quantum of energy sent-out by the Independent Power Producers, Consolidated licensees and EDC is shown in the graphic given below:

Electricity generation facilities in the Kingdom of Cambodia for the year 2011 can be divided into 4 types: 1 - Hydropower Plants, 2 - Diesel power Plants, 3- Thermal Power Plants using coal and 4 – Plants using wood and other biomass.

Cambodia imports electricity from Thailand, Vietnam and Laos. The import from Vietnam is at 22 kV through a number of connections and at 230 kV through Vietnam – Takeo - Phnom Penh 230 kV line.Thailand is at 22 kV through a number of connections and at 115 kV through Thailand - Banteay Meanchey - Battambang and Siem Reap line. The import from Laos is at 22 kV to Steung Treng area.
