Founded as an online Facebook community in Rotterdam, IWNG is a steadily growing network for international women at
all stages of their professional careers or entrepreneurship.
We organize monthly social events to foster personal connections as well as various formal events throughout the year focused on personal and professional development. We have over 300 active members sharing their experience and
knowledge.
Our Vision
We envision a world where women:

As an International Women’s Networking organization, we create opportunities for women to connect socially and professionally.

well-being, and social interaction.

Kristina W. KayShe moved to Rotterdam in the summer of 2017 from Austin, Texas. As a child born in the UK to American parents, she acquired dual citizenship. The most important thing Kristina has learned from her life-long travels is that building a community with like-minded people creates a more satisfying and fulfilling life. This knowledge combined with her passion for empowering women led her to create IWNG. Kristina hopes, through IWNG, to support and encourage women to gain a sense of belonging and make meaningful connections that will last a lifetime, no matter where their journeys take them.
Kristina’s focus within IWNG is to connect entrepreneurs, freelancers and remote workers with each other to avoid isolation and loneliness. Kristina is also an English as a Foreign Language tutor. She currently works online teaching English to children in China. She also organizes monthly coworking meet ups for members who would like to be productive together in an inspiring environment outside of the house.
Sterling SchuylerShe moved to Rotterdam in June 2018 from Bavaria, Germany, but she is originally from the United States. As a result, she has restarted her career three times, and currently works as a freelance marketing consultant. After living in Rotterdam for a few months, she attended a coffee hosted by IWNG. Since then, she has eagerly continued participating!
Sterling remembers how difficult it was to find the motivation and courage to attend an IWNG event without knowing anyone. Her goal now is to help other members take that first big step out of their comfort zones. She organizes events for members to meet each other, share experiences, and ask questions in a casual setting.
Yustine AlvaresShe was born in Indonesia and raised in Rotterdam, where she got her degree in Creative Communications. She has worked for more than 14 years in Europe, South America and Indonesia. Developing successful creative marketing, communication, branding and media strategies in combination with design whilst enjoying work is her motive.
Yustine likes to connect with like-minded people to grow her international network and exchange experiences, as this is a vital part of working and living abroad. Now active within IWNG, she’s looking forward to creating valuable events, gatherings and workshops for members to enjoy and learn from. The monthly lunches are one of her initiatives, where members meet, eat and chat in a casual way.

About our members
International (expat) women living in Rotterdam are looking for genuine connections and support. It takes courage to build a new life in a new country, and IWNG fills that gap.
From day one, women have been joining events, volunteering their time and sharing their knowledge in order to help themselves and others.There is a true spirit of collaboration and empowerment. There is also curiosity and the desire to really get to know each other as people, not just as a face for a business. Our unique approach to creating a community has allowed our members to build truly meaningful relationships with each other, both professional and personal. We are a close group of women, not only sharing business cards, but also offering a friendly and supportive network that helps women in their times of need as well as celebrates their accomplishments.

Many members enjoy world leisure travel at least once a year, in addition to multiple day trips throughout the Benelux area. As new residents, many are also eager to make Rotterdam their home by finding their go-to cafe during the week, and their favorite high-end restaurant for weekend dates. They are willing to invest in their professional education to expand their business opportunities.
