• launched in the 1960s• includes the data of 4,675 persons• the database is for in-house use

Database TEHNEstonian articles on technology 1918-1944

Eesti tehnikaartiklid 1918-1944 – a four-partbibliography of Estonian articles on

technology has been published on the basis of the database

The bibliographic collection has been awarded twice with the prize for the best bibliography in Estonia in 2000 and 2012

Database DISS was launched in 1998 and is reaching its final stage

A print publication will include the following:

•master’s theses that were defended at TUT in 1939-1940•The recognitions (renaming) of the so far valid academic degrees in the mid-1940s at the request of TUT•documents on granting the teaching staff of TUT academic degrees for their previous research without defending thesis in the mid-1940s•candidate’s and doctoral theses that were successfully defended at TUT in 1946–1991, including the theses for which the Higher Evaluation Committee did not grant a diploma (did not grant the approval)•doctoral theses defended at TUT in 1992–1999

•sub-database about technology, industry and information technology

•descriptive records of articles published • in eleven Estonian journals of technology

The Estonian Research Information System (ETIS) has been on the agenda since the August of 2006

Since January 2007 library is themanager of publication's part of the data-base

The Department of Bibliography also manages the Archival Collection of TUT Publications

History of ETIS

• ERIS (Estonian Research Information System, predecessor of ETIS), 1999-2006

• need for large scale developments (real-time multi-partner dynamical system)

• 2006 spring the launch of ETIS with pre-installed data (users, publications, projects etc)

• Now ETIS has 10 000 applications and reports, 8500 projects, 33 000 registered users, 135 000 publications …

ETIS goal is to

• be an information channel and a tool for researchers and R&D institutions

• be a place where researchers can submit grant applications and reports

• be a place where financier can process applications, reports and reviews

• be a state register of R&D institutions, researchers, financiers and research activity

• be a place where users and visitors can read news and chat in the forum about research

• be a place to get fast and adequate R&D statistics

• be a trusted data repository
