5th Conference on
Empirical Issues in International Trade & Finance
“International Trade at Transaction Level and Effects
of Global Recession”
Venue: IIFT, Kolkata Campus
16-17 December, 2016
EIITF 2016
I. Objective
The main objective of the conference is to bring together researchers & policy-
makers in the domain of International Trade & Finance. Any theoretical or empirical
paper around this broad theme can be submitted for presentation in the conference.
Since the micro aspects of Trade & Finance are increasingly getting more attention
of academicians & Policy-makers, the focus of the conference will be on firm-specific
aspects, including firm heterogeneity. Moreover, new theoretical and empirical
models are being proposed, based on observations at the level of transaction
between exporters and importers. Thus, the focus is slowly changing from broad to
narrower drivers affecting the day-to-day occurrence of trade among nations.
Keeping this perspective in mind the conference focuses on examining the
transaction level determinants like logistic aspects of trade, trade costs and
transaction costs, concerns related to documentation procedure, financing and any
other issue that theoretically or empirically explains trade and investment flows.
