DARWIN HOUSE Darwin House has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and offers the facilities expected of a modern lodge. All rooms at Darwin House now are en-suite providing spacious comfortable rooms with all the modern conveniences expected by today’s travellers. If you are thinking of a romantic weekend or simply need somewhere to get away to relax why not book into one of the two rooms offering the option of shower or jacuzzi baths. The newly appointed managers Lorraine Campbell and Al Pluckrose along with Elena and Aleks provide a warm welcome to the lodge. Lorraine and Al had the good fortune to be posted as part of their roles in the Royal Air force to Mount Pleasant Complex for 16 months in 2007. They fell in love with the Falklands and loved island life so much that they recently left their home in Spain to return to the Falklands as the new Darwin House Management Couple. Full afternoon teas and fabulous ‘smoko’s’ have long been a Darwin House speciality. Now you can enjoy the delicious food in one of two beautifully furnished rooms with scenic views over the harbour. Additionally, Darwin House can cater for lunches, evening meals and even special functions. Eileen Davies is now offering an interesting range of tours from Darwin House including the off-the-beaten track tour to Hope Pace, founded in 1847 on the edge of Brenton Loch and overlooked by Mount Usborne. Sadly, the settlement was short-lived as, for a variety of reasons, it was considered to be an unsuitable location, and in 1859 the settlement moved to Darwin Harbour. All that remains of the settlement are a few scenic stone ruins that provide a valuable insight into how the early settlers lived and the difficulties they encountered in this beautiful but harsh environment. HOTEL LAS TORRES LAUNCHES “W IN COMFORT” from gbp£1205 per person. Torres del Paine National Park is world renowned for its "W" hiking circuit. The Hosteria Las
Torres’ brand new “W in Comfort” all-inclusive program includes guided day hikes to all three
valleys which form the circuit -- French Valley, Ascencio Valley and the vale that harbours Lago
Grey. By the end of each day, you arrive back at the Hotel Las Torres, where you can recharge
with comfortable accommodation and incredible meals before hiking another part of the trail
the following day. "W in Comfort" lets you experience untamed Patagonia without any concerns
other than enjoying the freedom of our pampas and observing the beauty of the mountains.
Day 1 Transfer from Punta Arenas. Visit to the Cerro Negro Ranch, a typical Patagonia ranch where guests get the chance to enjoy an authentic sheepdog and sheep shearing show organized by the ranch workers and the family owners. Lunch at the ranch. Arrival to Hotel Las Torres. Accommodation at Hotel Las Torres.
Days 2-4 During the next 3 days you will explore the 3 beautiful valleys that form the “W” circuit. Each afternoon, you head back to the hotel to enjoy the comfort of the authentic estancia in the Chilean Patagonia. Excursion Las Torres, Sendero del Ascencio. You will explore the Ascencio Valley, walking through a beautiful lenga forest and getting up close to the astounding Towers of Paine. The trail travels through native bushland and crosses streams and moraines. If you like horses you may opt to horseback ride to El Chileno Lodge, which is located halfway up the trail. Then you may continue on toward the base of the Towers on foot. Excursion to the French Valley. We will take you to the Pudeto boat dock by vehicle. Here, you will board the “Hielos Patagónicos” Ferry for a 30 minute crossing of the Pehoé Lake, to reach the trailhead for the trek towards the French Valley. The trail is surrounded by lakes, rivers and streams, and a wonderful view of the Paine massif. Once you reach the foot of Paine Grande Mountain you will be able to rest in front of the French Glacier, where you might witness one of the frequent avalanches from a distance. Excursion to the Grey Lookout. We will take you to the Pudeto boat dock by vehicle. Here, you will board the “Hielos Patagónicos” Ferry for a 30 minute crossing of the Pehoé Lake, to reach the trailhead for the trek towards the Grey Glacier viewpoint. The hike travels through rocky areas, evergreen and deciduous forests. From the lookout you will have a wonderful view of the Grey Glaciar and the Grey Lake which is often filled with icebergs. Day 5 Departure to the airport in Punta Arenas.

Torres the best place to dine in Torres del Paine National Park based on comments from those who have sampled our
excellent cuisine. In January they are introducing an a la carte menu which includes vegetarian options besides the typical
Patagonian dishes already on offer at Restaurant Coirón.

This independent touring itinerary will provide you with the iconic destinations Australia has to offer!
Enjoy the wonders of the renowned ‘Sydney, Rock and Reef’. Day 1: Arrive Sydney This classic holiday starts in Sydney - Australia’s most iconic destination. Transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day getting to know the city. Day 2: Sydney Sydney is packed with sights, attractions and your Darling Harbour Experience Pass (included) is a great way to explore the city. Visit the famous Sydney Aquarium and Sydney Wildlife World, explore the harbour with a hop-on/hop-off cruise, and admire the views from the summit of the Sydney Tower. Day 3: Blue Mountains Join a tour to the picturesque Blue Mountains and follow the scenic drive to the Three Sisters rock formation towering above the Jamison Valley. Return via Featherdale Wildlife Park to see kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and other native creatures. Day 4: Sydney Today is a full day to spend at your own leisure; maybe see more of the attractions on your Darling Harbour Experience Pass. Day 5: Sydney - Uluru (Ayers Rock) Today, fly to the Red Centre, the heart of the Outback, and transfer to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a magical ‘Sounds of Silence’ dinner; listen to the haunting sound of the didgeridoo as the sunset silhouettes Uluru, then dine under the canopy of stars in the desert sky. Day 6: Uluru (Ayers Rock) This morning is at leisure before your driver guide takes you to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) and into Walpa Gorge. Return by coach to the sunset viewing area in time to watch sunset over Uluru whilst enjoying a glass of wine and nibbles. Day 7: Kata Tjuta - Kings Canyon Rise early for the Uluru sunrise, a guided climb or base tour of the monolith, and visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole and the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Next, head to mighty Kings Canyon. Day 8: Kings Canyon - Alice Springs Take an early morning guided walk to the rim of Kings Canyon for breathtaking views of its fascinating rock formations. This afternoon, travel by coach to the Outback town of Alice Springs. Day 9: Alice Springs - Cairns Transfer to Alice Springs for the flight to Cairns, gateway to Tropical North Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef. On arrival, a shuttle transfer will take you to your chosen hotel. Day 10: Kuranda Ride the Scenic Railway up to the mountain village of Kuranda and return on the Skyrail, hopping on and off as you wish for up-close exploration of this World Heritage forest. Enjoy the afternoon and a buffet lunch at Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. Day 11: Great Barrier Reef - Port Douglas Board a catamaran cruise to the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef. From Quicksilver’s pontoon enjoy a buffet lunch, some snorkelling and view the coral from the underwater observatory. Back on dry land, transfer to your chosen hotel in Port Douglas. Days 12 & 13: Port Douglas Enjoy two full days to browse stylish Macrossan Street, or relax on the white sands of Four-Mile Beach. Day 14: Port Douglas - Cairns Transfer back to Cairns airport for your onward flight.
