IMMERSION IN ENGLISH AND PLURILINGUAL PROJECTEDUCATING WITHOUT LANGUAGE BARRIERS

MANDARIN CHINESE: A LANGUAGE THAT FOSTERSCHILDREN’S COGNITIVE SKILLS

From the outset in Agora Sant Cugat International School, our students are immersed in an education in English so that they acquire the language as naturally as a mother tongue. This is achieved through our excellent trilingual teaching staff and a wealth of materials and activities conducted entirely in English:

- 70% in Infant Education- 34% in Primary Education- 34% in Secondary Education (Spain's ESO)

Due to its unique structure, Mandarin Chinese is extremely valuable for children's cognitive development. Through games and artistic calligraphy, we start introducing Mandarin in the Infant School and students continue to study it in later years.

From Primary 5, students can decide to continue studying as a second foreign language, Mandarin Chinese or choose between French and German, also taught by specialist teaching staff.

Our students receive the necessary preparation to sit the official language examination of the University of Cambridge; as well as official certificates in Chinese (through the Confucius Institute), German (through the Goethe-Institut) and French (through the French Education Ministry's DELF qualifications).

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCESTHE CORNERSTONE OF OUR GLOBAL EDUCATION

BECAUSE LANGUAGE LEARNING IS NOT ENOUGH,OUR STUDENTS LEARN TO INTEGRATE

INTO OTHER COUNTRIES AND CULTURES

For students aged 10 onwards, Agora Sant Cugat International School organi-ses and coordinates experiences of high educational value that foster cultural exchange and prepare them to successfully acquit themselves in their chosen university courses or professional careers anywhere in the world.

MUSICAL EDUCATIONIDENTITY OF AGORA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

SPECIAL PARTNERSHIP WITH BARCELONA’SLICEU CONSERVATORY

Musical Education is the best instrument to achieve an individual's comprehensive development, creative capacity and self-discipline, enhance their abstract reasoning, and offer unique artistic experiences to students.

Students at Agora Sant Cugat International School begin to develop their sensitivity towards music in the Infant School and by the time they are aged fifteen, they can all play a musical instrument.

We use the Liceu Conservatory's own educational resources, supplementing our music programme with the institution's teaching tools, materials and assessment criteria.

By following this programme, our students can obtain the Elementary Diploma from the Barcelona Liceu Conservatory and are ensured an optimum foundation on which to build further musical studies with recognised qualifications.

The Liceu Conservatory programme fosters participation in instrumental and vocal groups with various musical events in venues such as the Palau de la Música or the Barcelona Liceu Conservatory Auditorium. Our students also have the opportunity to take part in other events, such as the NACE International Music Week, run by the NACE Schools group.

CREATIVE AND PERFORMING ARTSWE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT ARTISTIC EXPRESSION

FOSTERING THE CREATIVE IMPULSE OF STUDENTS

In the early years, we unleash all aspects of our students’ creativity - drawing, painting, dance and any other artistic manifestation that enables them to express their ideas and their own particular view of the world.

Through their creativity, students learn to develop strategies to overcome obstacles, become more disciplined, increase the desire to improve and open up to other cultures.

GROWING WITH SPORTIN BODY AND IN SPIRIT

AGORA INTERNATIONAL SPORTS CLUB:TOP QUALITY FACILITIES AND COACHES TO PROMOTE

INFANT EDUCATIONDISCOVERINGHAPPY LEARNING

CHILDREN'S EARLY YEARSARE THE IDEAL TIME TO FOSTER A PASSION

FOR LEARNING AND TO IMMERSETHEM IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

The first few days away from home are very important and children need to feel loved and cared for in a warm and familiar environment in which to connect with other children and learn their first skills.

This is what we call Happy Learning. In the campuses of Agora Patufet Infant School and Agora Sant Cugat International School, children aged from four months to six years old are completely immersed in English, work with their natural creativity and emotional intelligence and discover music, dance, the visual arts, new technologies and even Mandarin Chinese!

PRIMARY EDUCATIONGROWING UP TRILINGUAL

ENGLISH, CATALAN AND SPANISH AREOUR THREE LANGUAGES OFINSTRUCTION IN PRIMARY,

WITH AN EQUAL BALANCE ACROSSTHE CURRICULUM

“I'm all grown up!” is something all children feel and say when they first start their Primary education. It is during this stage that students acquire the oral expression and comprehension skills that enchant us all. Almost without realising it, they begin to start reading, writing, learning sums, playing the violin and so on. This is the time they begin to develop their personal aptitudes, work and study habits and social skills.

During Primary, new technologies offer students the cutting-edge learning techniques that are more engaging and fun, such as collaborative work, projects for challenges and flipped classrooms, at the same time as fostering critical thinking and a scientific spirit.

Students continue to study Mandarin Chinese up to Primary 4 and then from Primary 5 upwards, students can choose to either continue Mandarin Chinese or begin French or German as a second foreign language.

SECONDARY EDUCATIONDISCOVERING CULTUREACTIVELY

DEVELOPING STUDY AND TEAMWORK SKILLS

An essential stage in which students further their active, creative and participative learning.

Trilingualism, team work, classrooms equipped with teaching technology, the Virtual Classroom Community in which to share their academic activities, direct experimentation through field work or international experiences will be the basic tools to develop students’ ability to work together, hone their critical thought and research skills and foster their own sense of responsibility to help them take charge of their own learning process.

By the time students complete Secondary 3 (ESO 3), their tutors will have guided and helped them and their families to choose itineraries that, in the following year, will be their path to the various options of Baccalaureate. This is done on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with the skills, aptitudes and career preferences of each student.

100% PASS RATE IN THE UNIVERSITYADMISSIONS EXAMINATIONS "LA SELECTIVIDAD"

SPANISH NATIONAL BACHILLERATO (BACCALAUREATE)ONE STEP FROM HIGHER EDUCATIONThis is the stage in which a student’s intellectual and human maturity develop. It is when they begin to discover what their passions are and serves as an incentive to be useful to society. In these two years, they will learn the skills to achieve the best academic results to ensure they can choose the higher education they want.

The tutors and the Career and Guidance Department will help students and their families to decide between four options - Humanities, Social Sciences, Health Sciences and Technical Sciences.

INTERNATIONALLY MINDED PEOPLEFOR A FUTURE WITHOUT FRONTIERS

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB)THE DOOR TO THE WORLD'S BEST UNIVeRSITIES Agora Sant Cugat International School is one of the few private schools in Spain certified to teach the International Baccalaureate ProgrammeDiploma; a leading programme of studies and qualification on the international stage, providing our students with access to the world's best universities, and enabling them to fulfil their professional potential anywhere.

The International Baccalaureate is based on an eminently practical and experimental method that encourages students to apply various learning approaches in which they play an entirely active part. Assuming the responsibility for their own education, IB students develop a constant curiosity, an open mind, critical and independent thought and an excellent capacity for analysis. They also acquire a social commitment to their community, respect and interest for other cultures and a strong command of English. All this makes them citizens of the world.
