AXIAL CONFIGURATION SOFTWARE
Axial configurator is a practical and extremely helpful tool to
assist with the selection of products to meet your project
requirements.
The Software provides detailed datasheets comprising efficiency,
performance, sound, wiring and specifications. The software will allow
all of the data to be imported into Microsoft or DXF format for
AutoCAD.

fans suitable for use in potentially explosive atmosphere in
compliance with the ATEX Directive for on-shore applications.

CASE STUDY - NUAIRE SUPPLIES ATEX FANS TO THE ARCTIC CIRCLE
The project known as ‘Goliat’, is situated in a region of the Arctic
Circle known to encounter extreme weather conditions.
The harsh environment that the fans were intended for use in, came
with challenging fan specification requirements that were at the
heart of all focal discussions with our client.
A number of ATEX certified, offshore stainless steel short case axial fans,
comprising of 316 grade stainless steel case, fully cast 316 grade
stainless steel impeller and ATEX NORSOK specification motors were
supplied to our client Guntner in June 2012.
The Goliat field is located in the Barents Sea, in waters measuring 1,312
feet (400 meters) deep. The oil and gas field is situated off Norway’s
northern tip.
The Norwegian government approved Goliat’s field development, which
consists of subsea wells tied-back to a circular platform. Due to harsh
weather, frigid waters and a fragile ecosystem of the Barents Sea, the
partners selected Sevan as the platform supplier. The circular platform
will utilize electricity supplied from land combined with a gas turbine on
the platform, which results in lower levels of CO2 emissions.
Goliat is scheduled to commence production in 2013 and the field has
a life expectancy of 15 years. Total development cost of Goliat is
estimated at $5.2 billion. After start-up, production is expected to
plateau at 100,000 barrels per day.

NUAIRE’S ErP STANDARD RANGE
By adopting the Kyoto Protocol, the European Union has undertaken
to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 20 percent by 2020.
To achieve this climate goal, the EU adopted the ErP Directive (Energy-
using Products Directive) in 2005. Renamed as the ErP Directive
(Energy-related Products Directive) in 2009, it will help with studying
the savings potential of numerous energy related products and
stipulating minimum requirements.
Limits for fans were defined in June 2010 and are mandatory now.
Regulation was passed in 2011 and came into force in 2013.

Nuaire’s throw range can have up to an 80 meter throw, whilst
maintaining a minimum velocity of 1m/s (4 Pole) & 0.5m/s (6 Pole)
The throw range are in sizes from 450-1250mm in a medium case
and can be both 4 and 6 pole options available
The benefit of this range is that it eliminates the requirement for
a streamer or an Airflow Straighteners
