Labour surplus in Hungary

- oversupply of graduates (10-15 times more than the economy can tolerate yearly, 2011)

-a lot of graduates with the same qualifications (economists, lawyers, bachelors of art, people in trade, sales and production) - the result is career change

-university and college graduates obtain higher wages - difficulty in finding jobs – retraining

-vocational workers find jobs more easily – lower wages

- in areas where special skills are needed (e.g. plumbers, bricklayers, carpenters, electricians etc...)

-the system of vocational training is being under reconstruction in Hungary

-according to a survey 150,000 graduates will be missing by 2020

-half a million youngsters will be looking for jobs in vain due to the lack of degrees

Conclusion

-Most school leavers (university, college 70%,vocational training 30%)

- beginners (university/ college 50%, final exam 30%,vocational training 20%)

-All students consider professional expertise the most important in their future.

-70% considers language competency, language exam crucial

-All school leavers are satisfied with the qualification they got in our school.

-80% of school leavers claim finding a job is almost impossible in the present situation in Hungary. It is mainly because of the lack of work experience(business needs it even if it’s not always possible to acquire during studying) and the lack of vacancies.
