TRAININGEach player will be training with their own age group. 97s with

97s, 98s with 98s. Each group has between 30 -35 players. Each

training session is run by 5 - 6 Coaches, Trainer and Doctor. Other

Coaches, including the Coaching Staff of the First Team drop by

daily to see their future gems. This is as PROFESSIONAL

TRAINING as your child will EVER get. They cannot use their own

clothing. They all dress in River Plate provided attire given to

them every morning. After practice they return to the Laundry

room. These training sessions are the real thing. The Squad is

training to play on Saturday. THIS IS NOT LIGHT TRAINING. IT IS

EXTREMELY SERIOUS. EVERY SECOND OF THE PRACTICE IS TAKEN

AS THE LAST MINUTE OF THE WORLD CUP FINAL.

TRAINING - IIYou will be training and living among the real team players: Those

that plays for the AFA tournament. You will be a witness to 30

kids fighting to get a birth on Saturday’s Roster. You will see the

happy faces of those who make it (16 only) and of those who

need to return the following Monday to try harder. The 98 Squad

has the son of Simeone (Coach of Athletic Madrid) Gallardo

(Coach of Nacional of Uruguay) Burruchaga (World Champion 86

and Coach of Athletic Rafaella). THIS IS VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS.

One Australian ’96 player told us: “in a month I learned what I

could have learned back home in 3 years. These are 16 year old

PROS. I wish I could stay longer.”

SchoolRiver Plate has its own High School & University on site. You can

sign up for some classes or not. It is up to the Individual Player.

However, going to class means that you will be learning

(perfectionating) a new language / culture. You will not be graded

and participation is required for those attending class. For those

choosing not to go to School, nap time is mandatory. There are

no players at the lodging facility so it gets pretty boring.

Accordingly, School is suggested. The Club has over 50 different

Sports and over 12,000 boys/girls enter the facilities on a daily

basis. Soccer Players are semi-Gods. Enjoy!
