International Journal on Teaching and Learning in Higher Education SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The following Submission Guidelines pertain to all manuscript types, that is, Research Articles, Instructional Articles, and Review Articles. Ultimately, authors should follow the guidelines set forth in the most recent edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA).
By submitting to IJTLHE, authors are confirming that the manuscript has not been published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts should be submitted in English and in Microsoft Word .doc file format only. Do not submit .docx files. Title Page: Include the manuscript title only. Do not include the authors' names, affiliations, email addresses, and phone numbers. Author information will be obtained during the online submission process. Do not bold face or italicized anything on the title page.
Abstract: Include a 100-200 word abstract describing and summarizing the manuscript. The abstract should provide the reader with a summarization of the contents of the manuscript.
Keywords: At the bottom of the Abstract page include 3-5 keywords, separated by commas that may be used to index the manuscript.
Body of Manuscript: The body of the manuscript should conform to the following guidelines.
Length: Manuscript length will depend on the type of manuscript submitted: Research Article (15-
25 pages), Instructional Article (10-20 pages), and Review Article (3-5 pages). These lengths include only the text of the manuscript and not the abstract, tables, references, and appendices. Manuscripts of greater length will be considered as space and interest provide.
Manuscript Preparation: All manuscripts should conform to the APA preparation guidelines;
specifically, the manuscript should include double-spaced text with no columns; 12-point standard font (e.g., Times, Times Roman); 1-inch margins; italics, as needed, but no underlining; page numbers in the upper right corner of the page header; and section headers, as needed.
Manuscript Style: All manuscripts should conform to the APA style guidelines for punctuation,
spelling, capitalization, italics, abbreviations, headings, quotations, numbers, tables, and figures. In addition, authors should follow the APA style guidelines for reducing bias in language.
Footnotes and Endnotes: Footnotes and endnotes should not be used. Relevant information,
which might normally be placed in a footnote or endnote, should be included in the manuscript text.
Acknowledgements: Any acknowledgements of persons, institutions, or agencies should be brief.
References: All manuscripts should conform to the APA guidelines for citations and references. Provide a DOI whenever available. English translations for titles in other languages must be provided.
Tables and Figures: All manuscripts should conform to the APA guidelines for the inclusion of Tables and Figures. Tables and Figures should be numbered sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Table 2, and Figure 1, Figure 2) and include descriptive titles.
